On my last campaign, I had my level two party join up with the local chapter of the thieves guild. Their introduction was to be an unarmed fight with the guildmaster, a level 15 dwarf fighter with a rank of monk. He was supposed to beat them into the ground, and then when no backup showed up, accepted that the party wasn’t allied with the law. I rolled no less than six natural 1s during the fight, causing my dwarf to nearly lose against a party fourteen levels below him. He actually threw eight punches in one turn and missed all but one of them.
