Did my comment not post? Well @IAmTheFather , I never said that what I said was proof God exists. I attempted to say that I believe that there is more to life than a random but extremely complex pattern of events and others believe there is simply that. Don't attempt to insult me with something you looked up on google. I have no wish to convince anyone that Christ is the saviour right now, because it is not the time place or context to do so. I was simply attempting to defend something I love. Many atheists say that Christians shouldn't shove religion down another's throat. I expect the same courtesy. Thank you

@SuperbDork, I'd also like to add to @jklyt1 to say Christians actually believe that our loving God sends people to Hell because, though he loves us, he is also Holy and Just. Our sin is unholy and he cannot be in the presence of that. He is just in that he must punish us for our sins. But he also offers us forgiveness and saving. We believe Jesus was born, lived a holy life, and died because God didn't want to lose us. He loves us so much that he gives us an infinite number of chances in our life to atone for our imperfection

@BabaBooey, And may I ask, what knowledge do we have that proves it to be false? The question that most religions answer is not what happened after the dawn of time, but how something could be created out of nothing, which all knowledgeable scientists admit, and also why any of it happened. Our lives are a literal impossible circumstance. So why would someone be at fault for an attempt at gaining meaning?

@SuperbDork, I'm just saying that religion was one of the worst things that happened to humanity, it has resulted in many wars and violence. When I said that religion isn't real it was because of all the horrible things that happen in this world. If there was such a thing as god it probably wouldn't happen. Also, if god loves us so much why would he damn people who sin to hell? He created us, he made us with faults. Why would he sentence sinners to a eternity of misery. He himself made human nature and the wrongs that may come with it. We just have no evidence that indicates that religion exists. Just some books
-
@SuperbDork, that's the problem with the most officials in religion and science. They all think one can not exist without the other but in reality it's the opposite. Religion is the why and science is the how. A reaction can't occur without a catalyst, thus God is a feasible catalyst to evolution (if that's what happened).

@jklyt1, it's not trolling. On more secular Internet groups it is well believed that if Jesus existed. That in and of itself is hard to say due to how the entire New Testament was written 300-500 years after the events they chronicle. He was likely just a con man with some revolutionary ideas for his time.
-
@IAmTheFather, the "entire" New Testament was not written 300-500 years after Jesus death, that is a very ignorant falacy. And ok well this isn't an atheism sub reddit so sorry if your ideas have warm welcome you wanted. Jesus himself never promoted war or killing. Most wars are caused by greed over land or money even the ones disguised as "holy wars". The crusades were not about religion, they were about land. Jesus taught to treat your neighbor as yourself and that greed caused strife. If anything this "con man" was trying to prevent future wars by dropping some knowledge bombs. Jesus never caused a war, and just because some people started them in his name doesn't mean he supported them.

@BabaBooey, we were damned thanks to Adam and Eve. Yes He could have made us robots that all do his bidding but what point would rhat have been? He didn't have to create us at all so why not let us have free will like Him? God doesn't make anyone with faults, any faults we are born with or learn are a direct result of Adam and Eves fall. Yes I know it's unfair but we all have tainted blood since they were everyone's earliest ancestors. Hell wasn't even made with sinners in mind. It was originally created for Lucifer and all the other fallen angels but since humanity fell as well they had to have the same punishment. Fun fact though the Bible actually says that Jesus himself descended into Hell, I assume to give those in Hell their secons chance, so it's a bit unfair to say God doesn't understand humanity's pain since not only did he die one of the most painful deaths He also went into Hell himself. None of this means you have to believe it but I thought it'd be nice to shed some light.

@jklyt1, what evidence do we have that any of this is true? Based on the way the world seems to work it seems that there is no such thing as god. Also I could say that Dracula is real and is the real god. U could say that is absurd, but what makes less credible and more absurd than ur theory? Again u have NO evidence that god is real. Ha
-
@BabaBooey, did you really just end your statement with "ha"? What are you six years old? I was trying to be nice. Not everyone has to beleive what I believe, but it would be nice if you'd respect my beliefs as I respect yours. And if you're gonna play the "NO evidence" card then where is your evidence of His non-existence? Yes believing in a god you can't see takes faith, a lot of it, but so does believing in a process you've never seen happen (i.e. evolution(also I believe evolution is real but I believe there had to be God to start the process))
-
@jklyt1, "absence of evidence is not evidence of absence" does not apply to people making claims as urs. Just because there is no god it does not mean that nothing matters. I don't need to believe in god to give meaning to my life. I do things because I want to. U are just afraid and u want to believe in something but u are just too scared to give ur self any meaning. Bitch bye I already jacked it so I'm sleepy
Wait. Is this a POSITIVE religious pic?
