Controversial statement: I absolutely love this season.
@BabyHulk5577, Finally, somebody who agrees lol
@BabyHulk5577, season 8 Game of Thrones spoilers below
I loved the first half. I thought everything about the first 3 episodes were amazing. But to me, episode 4 seemed more like an hour long episode with 20 minutes added on the end that seemed way too rushed. I miss when actions had actual consequences. Like if you roll up to the gates of the people who want you dead with only 20 men for backup you should absolutely be dead, just doesn't make sense. And with episode 5 it makes no sense for several characters to do what they did. It's like let's take 8 seasons of character development and just throw it out the window
@Lonely sandbar, the directing has been superb, the cinematography has been legendary.
@TLabs , That's the point of loss. The more loss each character had the greater the effect. Dany has officially lost too much. She's snapped and how do you expect Grey Worm to act. His one and only true love has been killed infront of him. What man wouldn't want to massacre armies.
@BabyHulk5577, true, lost and pain make people do crazy things. I can understand grey worm, but I see no scenario where it makes sense for the breaker of chains, who's entire character has been defined by saving the oppressed common people, who was so devastated when drogon killed one little girl that she locked the other two dragons away, to murder 10s if not 100s of thousands of innocent men women and children for absolutely no reason other than to inspire fear
@TLabs , I mean she was most likely raped as a kid by her brother, forced into a relationship with a barbarian, constantly oppressed and on constant watch for assassins, lost her love, 2 of her children, constant disappointment with the people around her, lost her best friend, and also found out the man she loved was a far more capable leader than she was and happened to related.... wouldn't any normal person lose her crap ?
@BabyHulk5577, Sure, she got abused by her brother but she got over that when she realised she was stronger than him. She was forced to marry Khal Drogo but she got over that when she fell in love with him. All that is so far in the past its irrelevant now. Out of everything you mentioned the only ones that are effecting her are the loss of Missandei, Viserion, Rhegal, and her relationship with Jon, you would think that would make her want to take it out on the people responsible, not countless innocent civilians
@BabyHulk5577, and on top of that it's not like she snapped, she made a conscious decision the second Jon pulled away from her kiss that she would rule with fear no matter what it takes, as long as she gets herself on the throne. She has always been ambitious but the well being of the people always came before that for her. Where just destroying the Red Keep and killing Cercei would inspire just as much fear without causing everyone besides probably Grey Worm to despise her and want her gone
