3x6=18, 3-18=-15, -15+2=-13
@heavenly potato, PEMDAS, bjtches!
@heavenly potato, but that's PEMDSA...
@heavenly potato, Addition comes before subtraction so it would be -17
@Achylion, addition and subtraction are done at the same time from left to right, so you would add three first.
@Achylion, actually subtraction and addition are done in the order in which they appear
@heavenly potato, oh my bad yo
@Achylion, no wories
@heavenly potato, when I learned it in school they taught me BEDMAS. (Brackets, Exponents, Division, Multiplication, Addition, Subtraction) And my teacher told me to do it left to right while still using BEDMAS.
@SCBeauty, what is PEMDAS and what do potatoes have to do with any of this?
@Lonely Monkey Fart,
@RustyFapwagon, everytime I use that formula I get Dickbutt as an answer
@SCBeauty, we call it BODMAS
@heavenly potato, technically nothing is right until you make parentheses, or else this is just a rigged question
Or for anyone who know PEMDAS
@AnonymousCrab, what's PEMDAS? I learnt BIDMAS (Brackets, Indices, Division, Multiplication, Addition, Subtraction)
@Fantabulous Toaster, Parentheses, Exponents, Multiplication, Division, Addition, Subtraction
@Fantabulous Toaster, woah woah woah... calling parentheses brackets makes sense, but where do you live where exponents are called indices? i have never heard of such a thing.
@Fantabulous Toaster, if you got an American education some one lied to you big time... brackets and parentheses are very different things in math
@Ruupasya, indices and exponents apparently mean the same thing. I did not know this either but looked it up.
@Ruupasya, I go to school in England and I have only ever known I bidmas
@Mkb617, interesting... what parts of the world use indices?
@Ruupasya, I am not sure I just saw it in several sights saying that they were the same thing I didn't go any deeper. They listed exponents, power, indices and I think something else as all meaning the same thing
@ Abnormal Fiber, Well Brackets are mostly used for coordinates...but at this level of math who cares!
"I play guitar and date girls". What about math? How good are you at that? "... I play guitar and date girls".
@Captain Swordsman, this comes close to one of the dumbest things I have ever heard.
Guess what? Trump won. Times that.
I saw it like this: (3-3)x(6+2)=0
am I alone here?
Why is this pnly for geniuses? This is taught in elementary school. Is the bar that low for geniuses now?
@Fear Boner, why is this on FunnyPics :(
But since addition comes BEFORE subtraction, wouldn't it be -17?
@Scott Sterling, Wait--nope, even then it's still -13. I'm an idiot.
@Scott Sterling, It's not that addition comes before subtraction, following the rules of PEMDAS ( BIOMASS, or GEMDAS) It goes whatever is in parentheses first, then exponents, and then Multiplication/Division and Subtraction/Addition, whichever comes first going left to right is dealt with first.
@Scott Sterling, Actually, no I'm not!
@SeussAlmighty, Oh. Then yes, I am an idiot.
@SeussAlmighty, then the rule would not make sense.
@Stinkyugly, It makes sense. Since there are no parentheses or exponents, the next step is Multiplication/Division, in this case just multiplying. Then comes Addition/Subtraction from left to right. Subtraction comes first from left to right so it is done first. Then addition follows, giving us our answer
@Scott Sterling, It's because of the hits on the head you took...
@Scott Sterling, you had me confused there for a second. But no, if you want to add the 2 first it would be
@Scott Sterling, This is why I prefer GEMA: Grouping, Exponents, Multiplication, Addition.
@Scott Sterling, just think of the "3" as a negative number and it doesn't matter if you add or subtract first.
BedMas here in Canada.
@Duncan5769, I was always taught that math was universal. I want my money back
FVCK!! Forgot about the (-) in front of the 3. SHÎT!!
I'm still in Kindergarten, can someone explain how to do this?
If only Mrs Hayfer could see him now
So proud of him
BEDMAS MOTHERFVCKER, DO YOU USE IT?
@Baby Cthulhu, well, you're obviously using it wrong if you got that answer...
@ItsTrue, how the hell do you come up with that
@Varok Saurfang, I did too, he accidently did 3-18 as 18-3. Just a brain fart
@Varok Saurfang, follow the bedmas rule.
So think for it like this 3-(3×6)+2
Yeah idk wtf he/she/attack hellicopter did
@SOPT RAIDEN, pemdas*
@carguy25, wtf is a pedmas, it's bidmas i thought
@TheSpottedMonk, parentheses exponents devision multiplication addition subtraction... bla bla bla bla bla bla algebra bla
It also has its own little jingle to remember it that I can't ever remember but I can remember the actual rule because logic
@TheSpottedMonk, It has different names around the world for how they interpret things. PEMDAS the p is parentheses and the e is exponents. Others use brackets and indices. And some use GEMDAS where the g stands for Groups
@Duncan5769, brain fart
Everywhere else in the world=bedmas
@SOPT RAIDEN, not everywhere just most English based countries
@SeussAlmighty, pemdas ftw
Anyone figure out why this is funny yet?
You must add first. Its a rule because you can't subtract if there is nothing there to take..
@Stinkyugly, ever hear of a negative number?
@Stinkyugly, you must retake your math class
Seems like all you collage kids are one here all the time. You should know the answer by now. Its I don't care. But yeah its 17. Dumbass.
@Stinkyugly, no, no it's not.
@Stinkyugly, so many mistakes in this comment
I am here for fun. I love many people here. I have never met. Its all about realise from life. So it make it add or subtract to whatever you wish.
@Stinkyugly, oh wait never mind.I thought you misspelled realize and it still didn't make sense. You meant release? I think
