Lur questions the complexity of Earth’s class system.
Also, did you know that if you're famous you can kill your wife and there's no such thing as 25 to life?
@ TouchMyCatEars, are gloves that are too small for your hands also a requirement?
@Commander Peanuts, Most any country folk or BDSMer can tell you that when leather gets wet, including with blood, and then dries it shrinks.
@ZohmB, oh thank goodness. I didn't want to have to do a murder in ill-fitting gloves.
@ TouchMyCatEars, well, as long as you’ve got the cash to pay for Cochrane...
@ TouchMyCatEars, just don’t cheat on your taxes
@Hot Coffee, you pay taxes?
@A Deformed Penis, good song
@ TouchMyCatEars, also, did you know if you were caught smoking crack, you could always just run for mayor of DC?
@ TouchMyCatEars, if your rich and famous you can basically do anything and at worst probably go to a fancy rehab/mental health center for a few months
@ TouchMyCatEars, yep, way too much
Because the rich ones convinced them that poor ones taste better.
@Commander Peanuts, yep. Biggest con is rich convincing the middle class the poor are stealing from them.
@Spider4x, Rich People 101: convince those under you all their problems come from those beneath them. Chapter 2: Pedophilia and why its ok if you are a millionaire.
@Pvt BB Ghanoush, its the fault of (insert minority class). People believe this even though minorities have little@power to make laws or regulations.
Once the rich have been eaten, the the working class will run out of things to eat.
Simple. If you eat the rich, their will always be somebody richer.
It's an endless food source.
Until no one volunteers to be rich.
Since being rich is a award for accumulating resources, if no one seeks the reward, then their are no rich.
Then the poor starves, cause no one wants to voluntarily be eaten.
The magic's of socialism.
Long story short, there's two main types of power, monetary and political. Both can purchase a massive amount of military fire power, however political power is much harder to maintain since the more you crack down the more power you need to spend to crack down. Socialism fails because the rich just leave with most of the riches they were counting on dividing up. If they STOP the rich from leaving, the rich just arm the pheasants anyway and point out "they're the ones that got my stuff" on the way to join the line. They know alive and poor is better than dead, and they count on being able to climb back up later. This is why socialism will inevitably fail every time its tried, and why the longest surviving communist regimes inevitably end up genocidal authoritarian madmen.
@thrawnfett, like China.
I agree man, I honestly would have passed this if it wasn't this OP. The dudes a socialist, I've tried talking to him once. But he accused me of being for the abolition of Civil Rights. Because I told him that I hated California's prop 209(if you don't know about it I can send a link.). He even defended communist dictatorships by saying, they don't take everything from their citizens, you still own the shirt on your back. I find this guy honestly ill-informed, and repulsed by facts counter to his pre conceived beliefs. I spent three days chatting back and forth with this guy, and I find him disingenuous.
@That one lurker, now you are resorting to slander. Get a life.
@DogStew, what's slanderous?
@That one lurker, I’m not talking to you. Go bother someone else.
@DogStew, I'm glad you presented every moment where I slandered you.
@That one lurker, he vanished as fast as he showed up. Lol
@TheGoogler, he's stealth edited posts before. Non maliciously mind you, but still has.
@thrawnfett, while true that full blown socialism leads to authoritarian regimes in every attempt that’s been done, and going that route is a bad idea, I will argue on a few policies considered socialist as potentially adaptable into other structures of society.
No one straight method of governance is best. Mixing ideas and policies from several sources is a far better method and tends to bring longer lasting stability.
@Cloverleaf, I don't want to seem as if I only support pure laissez faire capitalism. However of the two systems, one by its nature MUST either fail or implement genocide/authoritarianism to hold it off for awhile. The other CAN end just as badly. If you only had a choice between the two, there is only one rational choice, especially since you can still PERSONALLY choose to use the other system if you so desire in the other. It may not be viable, but you can start a commune if you so choose, you just can't FORCE others into it (where the systems problems truly start to emerge). Mixed economies will of course always be more stable since they cross more economic "ground" and provide a stabler base. But if you want to pick the more stable side to build upon and "improve" with the other, capitalism is the only rational starting point.
@thrawnfett, pure socialism is gonna lead to ruin, and pure capitalism can too, especially when processes designed to prevent companies from taking advantage of employees aren’t implemented.
All I’m saying is not all socialist ideas are bad ones. All it takes is discerning them and adapting them.
@Cloverleaf, I don't think we're really disagreeing here honestly. Which ones and how far to take them is an entirely separate discussion of course, but the core concept seems aligned at least.
@That one lurker, your analogy is dumb.
@Cloverleaf, in any society if there is a vast discrepancy in the distribution of wealth and power, then that society will fail at some point. Pure capitalism and socialism have many of the same problems with regards to distribution of resources and opportunity. You need a medium between the two to address issues. But even more so, we need a society that trends towards post scarcity.
@thrawnfett, i would say the best rational starting point is in the middle. Pure capitalism would fare no better than pure socialism. One could say capitalism already failed since FDR saved it before it could fully collapse. However, as the usa has leaned to more pure capitalism there have been a rise in dissatisfaction, income inequality, and balance of power. This has led to a rise in social democratic values. Capitalism tends to destroy itself through power consolidation, just like a pure socialist society.
@Implicit88, socialists are the economic version of anti-vaxxers/ flat earthers.
To prove my point, AOC a congresswoman for NYC found an excess error on a pentagon report. She demanded the money be put to UHC. The error was a rounding error. They misplaced a 0 and she thought it was real money.
Second example, Bernie here recently propose a new bill that would strip 60% of a person net worth, if they "made a profit" off of the corona virus. Saying people like Bezos should give up upwards of 42bil. Cause he owns Amazon. Do you see the dumb? He's attacking the net worth of the f@cken people... if you don't understand. On covid day 1, stores close down across america, the stock market looks around, sees Amazon and says that's the new hot shīt and increase of the value of its stock.
Overnights Jack Bezos, the majority shareholder of Amazon size net worth increase. With out him selling a thing, or making a thing, it was magically there. Bernie wants to tax him 60% of an imaginary value.
Did someone say revolution??
@megamanx181x, yeah, I think there's a Beatles song about it
@megamanx181x, what we need is an execution.
@Implicit88, time to pull the guillotine out of storage
Because the rich employ the poor.
We need to eat the rich
@Landrover, then what?
As luck would have it, the elite love human meat. Makes sense they go out on a dish.
The poor cried,
“We are starving. There is no more bread, and we have nothing to eat.”
The rich man said,
“Not my problem you don’t work for your bread,”
as if he did not snatch away the grain by his own greedy hands and create filling bread for his own overflowing mouth.
The poor cried,
“We are dying. There is no more medicine, and we’re all ill.”
The rich man said,
“Not my problem you don’t take care of yourselves,”
as if he did not buy all the medicine and raise prices so high
the gods themselves would not
be able to reach.
The poor people
and the rich man was satisfied…
Until they came knocking at his door one night;
their faces were sunken,
their flesh decaying,
their eyes sightless.
They were monsters
of the rich man’s
As they devoured his flesh,
the rich man cried,
“Please, spare me!”
The ravenous zombies said,
“Not our fault
you fattened yourself
This is an Aerosmith song
Whod employ them
