Third wave feminism is a cry for privileges over rights because the first two waves have achieved the goals needed. Rather than be a feminist be an egalitarian and get both sides to the same playing field
@Bad Boi Jesus, “men and women are equal” - some idiot who doesn’t understand biology
@carguy25, equal in the eyes of the law
@Bad Boi Jesus, but they need things to be fairerer, or the patriarchy will exist and trigger them!
@Dephenistrator, the patriarchy does exist as much as Amy schumer is hilarious
@Bad Boi Jesus, now that's hilarious!
@Bad Boi Jesus, it’s now beyond equality, because women have already achieved it. They now want superiority, and sadly, they’re getting it. “Guilty until proven innocent”
@Osama bin Dead, this system as we know does not work other than drag the accused through the mud and destroy their entire life
@Bad Boi Jesus, men and women are no where near equal
Women are very much catered to in law and society
@Bad Boi Jesus, @phalcon , yeaah. Id say most jobs that are mostly male dominated are that way because very few women apply for things of the sort. If only 20% of applicants for a job are women every year then how do you expect to have a 50/50 workspace? Its not logical.
@Bad Boi Jesus, useless political drival. It's supposed to be a comedy app
@tylersmileyface, I can accept that that’s a thing, but at the same time, the environments of these positions has to be taken into account, as well. Look into some of the claims about Riot Games, and their boys club atmosphere. Similarly, my mom’s ex wife was just fired from a position doing physical labor at a chemical plant, from a sector that is pretty much all men, and has had several complaints and lawsuits about always targeting women to get them off the floor. It’s not all attributable to “oh, women just want comfy cozy jobs”, because sometimes they legit want to go for the male dominated fields, and are met with hostility every step of the way
@Bad Boi Jesus, ya know the definition of egalitarianism and feminism are the same thing? Both just seek equality.
@YoYoMango, by definition their the same but the movements are very different
@Bad Boi Jesus, people focus on the accused getting their life ruined, but there are also lots of victims that never get justice. Doesn’t that also ruin a life?
Umm, does it mean white collar? Blue collar is a hands on job...
@Emperor Mango, so should I ask middle class prostitutes for a blue handy?
@Emperor Mango, hands on, you say? ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡° )
@Emperor Mango, And they also put the percentile symbol on the wrong side. This whole picture is a mess
@Emperor Mango, yes
Nursing 80 to 90 % women
@phalcon , But that’s patriarchy free field no need to fight for men’s representation in that area they’ll only spread their misogyny
@phalcon , and it's a massively politically driven field where advancement is hardly about work ethic and more about how willing you are you roll over and listen.
Even though the draft in the U.S. is dead boys are still required to sign up for it or face penalties later in life but girls aren’t and you don’t hear much about women asking for them to be required to be signed up for it, outside of a small group of women who said they should be but they were all past the age required for it.
@Megahut, Because we should abolish selective service instead.
@Jdrawer, I agree with you
So... are we all just ignoring the fact this person has no idea how to use the percent symbol?
@WretchedEgg, i swear its the same guy that puts the dollar sign at the end of a number
Boys have a penis. Girls have a vagina.
Idk why this is even an argument. I dont want to speak for anyone, but most men dont want those jobs, why would women? Of course women are primarily wanting equality in those types of jobs - its the type of job the majority of people would prefer: comfortable and well paying. Are we saying women should strive for unfavorable positions?
@K1l, no we're saying that feminism is bigoted. Also it's pretty close minded of you to say "most men don't want those jobs;" when you have to put food on the table for your family and roof over their heads, you will take any job you can get. Income is favorable. You may prefer to work as a CEO but that does not mean having a job as garbage or construction worker is unfavorable, especially when the other option is homelessness (we'll get into homelessness statistics later, but spoilers, it's drastically a male majority). Women have the ability to filter past these jobs because of the favor and elevated status they hold in today's society as delicate and/or favored.
@Kskronz, Im not down-talking those types of jobs. They’re difficult and I have respect for anyone who works in those types of jobs.
Most men I know have hard physical labor jobs like mailmen, construction and the likes. And exactly as you said income is favorable, and those jobs pay well. But the working conditions of those jobs are not favorable when compared to safer, white collar jobs that pay equally.
There is no problem with taking blue collar jobs, but you cant deny the majority (again I cant speak for everybody but it’s for the most part this is true), would rather work in safer, less physically demanding jobs if they could.
It’s makes sense that women are striving for more equality in more favorable positions. Why in the hell would anyone want to strive for less favorable conditions instead of more favorable positions?
Im not trying to get into a debate about the morality of feminism, but I think that wanting favorable jobs isnt what makes them bigoted.
@Kskronz, plus we can look into the aspect about how women on average are physically smaller and weaker than men. Obviously there are exceptions, but for physically demanding jobs, men on average are better suited for those types of jobs, whereas women would thrive more in more mentally demanding jobs than they would physically demanding ones.
@K1l, Everyone should strive for what they want to strive for. If your goal is to be a pooper scooper then by all means keep pushing yourself until you get there.
My problem is with society giving away these "more favorable" positions to females purely because of the fact that they are female. The process begins in school; modern schooling is designed to benefit females over males. Look at how many boys are diagnosed with ADD at the age of 4 because they are "disruptive to the classroom," yet evolutionarily this is how boys behave. This carries through to higher education and then the professional world; the current majority of highschool graduates and college students are female, meaning females currently have easier access to these "more favorable positions."
If feminism was truly about equality not only would it indict a change to schooling for the benefit of boys, but it would also strive to have women work in less favorable positions until the male to female is balanced there.
@K1l, I'm sorry so do you want equality or not??
@Kskronz, what was the point of bringing up ADD? It’s seems like you’re trying to say boys are diagnosed with the disability as what? A way to oppress men or something in education? People are diagnosed with a disability because they have a disability, it’s not some big conspiracy to take down the male gender. That might be the worst argument I have ever heard on this topic, if I did interpret it correctly.
And yes it is true that there are more women than men in colleges, but if you look at the outcome, men have a higher success rate in obtaining higher level jobs based on the same exact degrees. Like Male psychology graduates are more likely to be psychologists and managers and female psychology graduates are more likely to be hired as social workers and counselors, lower jobs. That isnt the only field that happens, similar outcomes are the same in sociology and business degrees.
@K1l, I'm saying there is a systemic bias against males in the modern schooling system which in turn affects their ability to go on to college and achieve a job in these "more favorable positions."
@Kskronz, can you give any examples of how males in schools are discriminated against? The ADD one is really a stretch and I’ve been looking on google trying to find some. I can find plenty of articles saying that boys are discriminated against, but none of them tell how they are.
Can you provide some examples? You dont have to give any links or anything
"The Red Pill" directed by Cassie Jaye is a film you should watch
@Kskronz, I said not to give links lol, cant click them on here and no way im typing all those in. Just give me some examples
@K1l, I'm sorry but presenting scientific articles is how you substantiate a thesis. The colloquial presentation of "some examples" does not serve as evidence in any argument. (The documentary is a fun bonus.) If you're really interested you can investigate the links I provided.
Happy New Year!
@Kskronz, What im saying is that trying to remember and typing in the links is tedious and unnecessary. Just tell me what to look up, I cant copy and paste links, a google search would be much faster. I am interested in the topic and I’ve been trying to research it mysef but i cannot find any concrete evidence that boys have a particular bias against them in public schooling
Oh look another stupid neckbeard post. Those positions would draw scrutiny if women were applying and were being denied. The issue isn't forced numbers. It's about compensating for American culture.
@hollow114, and a bunch of comments by people who don't know the first thing about feminism.
*sees % sign on the wrong side*
Now wait just a fvcking minute
This would be more convincing if the creator could figure out how percent signs work and what a blue collar job is
Ah another controversial post !
@DrSin, I’m already making the popcorn
@Bad Boi Jesus, I already ate mine
@DrSin, controversial? The only person who would argue against this is probably liberachi
@The Pun Shielder, do I need to point out the obvious between the name and his leanings?
I’m pretty far left of centre in a lot of ways, and I’m regularly consume content from folk like Lindsay ellis and contrapoints, and I’ve never heard them talk about this
Feminism isn’t such a one-track thing. We can be fighting to get more women into all industries, and I would argue that that is the case...
Nothing like a post like this to remind how the majority of funny pics users are indeed high schoolers. I'm getting too old
The one thing I know about women is, whatever a woman says is the exact opposite of what she means, wants or believes. They are a lie that believes it is the truth. If they truly wanted equality, they’d demand the same expectations imposed on them as they have for men. Don’t get me wrong, I think women deserve the same respect as any man but, we don’t even treat our best friends with respect, what makes her so special?
Not funny. Just stupid political nonsense
Feminism is complaining that the richest 10% are almost all men while ignoring that the poorest 10% are also almost all men.
fined to focus or hyperactivity.
