Did you know a lot of auto accidents happen because people hit the gas instead of the brake. They then proceed to step harder on the gas thinking it is still the brake and end up going very fast or hit whatever is in front of their car.
@Conman33, because some people are really stupid
@Conman33, an old lady died from that next to my workplace. She rammed the side of the building and died a week later
@Dephenistrator, those kinds of stories are sad. But it's amazing the stubbornness of older people to give up driving when they know how dangerous it can be.
@Conman33, I know what you mean and I say that too but I wonder if we will be as stubborn when we are in the exact same position one day
@Conman33, unfortunately no driving is often seen as the last vestige of being a responsible independent adult and not home bound or in nursing care
It can be a vert hard mental block
@Honaw Fierceclaw, while true, i can't respect this much better than drunk driving.
@Dephenistrator, I agree but I think it is harder to gauge. Age is not a very good indicator, I know spry 80 year olds and down in the dumps 60 year olds
I think doctors need to get better at monitoring, but that can be a problem because people just won't talk to doctors.
It needs to be worked, but I don't know the solution
@Bonersaurus, this gif is from an elderly man stepping on the gas by accident
@Conman33, yay! Someone else listens to revisionist history! I thought I was the only one.
@Conman33, I sometimes have nightmares about shjt like that.
@Proactive Citizenry , before I drove for the first time I had nightmares about driving. It was either the pedal was to hard to press with my foot or that I hit someone with my car. Little did I know how easy driving actually is once you learn.
@Conman33, same. It's so easy. Just gotta keep your cool and not lose your shjt.
@Proactive Citizenry , lol just remembered that it's easy unless you're in LA like me and half the people here don't know how to properly drive.
@Honaw Fierceclaw, it needs a standardized test after a certain age. It needs to be a requirement as part of renewing an id
@MrJojo, as soon as driverless cars become available and affordable I'm getting one. I don't see any insensitive from driving myself about town. Why deal with traffic in your morning commute? I'd like a self driving car for work and road trips and a fast car to enjoy driving myself on days I'm free.
@Conman33, this was no accident, this was just an express car wash
@Conman33, mostly women.
@Conman33, why manuals save lives
@RAM Card, manuals can't tell you that when the car speeds up instead of slowing down that you are hitting the wrong pedal and that you have a split second to hit the correct pedal or you will crash your car or potentially kill someone.
@Conman33, well good sir, in a manual if his revs were high, he would just hit the limiter and not speed up and therefore he would have more time to and realize his problem. If his revs were low, he wouldn't accelerate nearly as fast as an automatic would since it would downshift and proceed to upshift, therefore he would barely speed up and again have more time to correct his error. Even if it's a small difference, the sudden acceleration caused panic which stopped him from seeing what his error was, which wouldn't happen in a manual. Even if he couldn't figure it out, the clutch is always there. However, he was too stupid to shift into neutral so, maybe he'd be too stupid to push in a clutch too. Touché.
@RAM Card, haha no one drives stick anymore. But yeah I see your point.
@Conman33, i drive a manual, and i always will. I also know several people who are the same way. And this would never happen for me as i almost always have the clutch in when i brake, so the worst it would do is rev the engine
@MidgetQ, yeah it'll definitely keep you safe. But I know my friend drives a stick and people almost rear end him because people aren't used to driving behind people with sticks.
"Clean as fvck"
@UmActually, Best comment :)
Carwash at the speed of light into the parking spot like a glove
*out of breath* "time?!"
@Torq Rinch, awesome comment. (Please count this comment as a second upvote. Thank you)
Like a glove!
@MallardTheBallard, was hoping to see someone quote Jim carry's ace ventura. My day is better now.
CAR WASH EXPRESS MOTHER FVCKERS
You gotta be quicker than that.
Looks like he made a...
Clean getaway, YAAAAAAAA

I was hoping to be the first to mention the parking job but I guess not.... Ah well. At least he didn't park like an a$$ hole
Car wash speed run.
Silly driver that's not how you wash a car
"Runaway car! Runniiiinn riiiight off the tracks! Runaway car yeah! Runniiiinn riiight off the tracks!"
*Violently screaming through the carwash*
Gotta Go Fast!!!
"I WANT WASH"
As someone who works at a carwash similar to this one, I dread this entire situation
He meant well, but he took the "Fast Car wash" sign a bit too literal.
No soap for you! Too slow!
Gtg fst mthrfcker
Speedy car wash, no literally.
As we see here by the damn near perfect positioning of the car in the parking stall we can determine this was a dude driving.
Like a glove
It got funnier when I envisioned it being my mom
How to clean and park your new car.
LIKE A GLOVE
Do you want a carwash or a super carwash?
At least he parked correctly.

Runaway car through a carwash?
@DeadXOnyx, old person floored it instead of breaking by accident
