This is the best Star Wars series hands down. Don't @ me.
@ThatsHoRaven, you sir have balls
@ThatsHoRaven, you’re not my supervisor
@ThatsHoRaven, is this Rebels? I just finished Clone Wars and I'm clammering for more star wars material
@Metal head Toph, no this is a Star Wars cartoon that came out before Clone Wars. General Grievous was basically god
@TR8R, what was it called? And do you think it was really good?
@Metal head Toph, honestly can’t remember off the top of my head. Google “Star Wars cartoons” and look for this art style. And yes I remember enjoying it immensely
@Metal head Toph, unfortunately it was also called The Clone Wars. Just google ‘clone wars cartoon’.
It was pretty good, but it tried to explain some things that just ultimately raised more questions. Like why Kit Fisto was such a badass in it but died like a bitch against Sideous.
@Metal head Toph, Rebels is fantastic and is CGI.
@I Are Lebo, wait you enjoyed Rebels?
@TR8R, hell yeah. Rebels was awesome.
@TR8R, although I still am disappointed we didn’t get to see the events of Rogue One from their point of view.
FYI: Hera, Chopper, and the Ghost are all in Rogue One.
@Metal head Toph, its called clone wars you can find the whole thing on YouTube. Its not cannon and even though its good people overhype it a ton and see it tinted with nostolgia googles. Its mostly just awesome visuals which is still awesome but it doesn't come close to the CGI clone wars not by a mile
@I Are Lebo, huh. I tried hard to like Rebels I really did, but watching it after binging Star Wars the Clone Wars was the wrong move. The weird new art style and childproofed action scenes just pushed me away. I did enjoy the story at parts but even that got a little strained
@TR8R, it’s not actually that childproofed. The whole ‘no killing the enemies’ stops at the end of the second season. It’s actually somewhat plot integral (though subtle). In season 3 they blow up, fatally shoot, and throw stormtrooper off ledges to their deaths.
As for the animation I found Clone Wars to be the one I had to get used to.
@I Are Lebo, I respect your opinion but I disagree. Even season three didn’t approach the brutality of Clone Wars. And I really can’t fathom how the better art style was the one you needed to get used to, but to each their own I suppose. Idk man, I’ve been meaning to give it a try again, I dropped it mid season three so I might just start from season 1.
@TR8R, that’s a bit of an unfair expectation. Clone Wars took place during a galactic war. All of Rebels is taking place in the point in time before any official rebellion had begun.
You should compare the violence with the violence that the Jedi used during The Clone Wars show. Asohka never really killed people, she only cut up robots.
@TR8R, also, Maul comes back and he’s a badass even still.
@I Are Lebo, maybe Ahsoka did but the other Jedi often were shown killing sentient beings. And what I saw of Maul didn’t impress near as much as when he and Savage were a team. Still I’ll give it another shot eventually, maybe watching without clone wars on my brain will allow me to enjoy it for what it is
@TR8R, when did the Jedi kill sentients? They take even the Seperatist leaders captive. They don’t execute their enemies.
@I Are Lebo, geonosians for starters. We also see Pong Krell murder the fùck out of a bunch of clones. Anakin and Obi Wan slice up some pirates. And again that’s only the Jedi. It shows humans and sentient species being horribly killed by the separatists in almost every episode
@I Are Lebo, then you have Rebels where the MC has a fùcking electro ball slingshot lol
@TR8R, well, yeah. It was a little silly, but you’re comparing the fighting style of trained soldiers during war with a civilian fighting against a tyrannical government.
If they’d been bloodthirsty against the Empire, it would have made them a higher priority target.
@I Are Lebo, I suppose. Idk maybe it’ll click more the second time.
@ThatsHoRaven, what about the actual series. Like the original trilogy. They are called episodes after all ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
@TR8R, that’s funny, that’s what your mom told me, too.
No but seriously, I’d give it another try. Not every minute of it is great, and on the whole I don’t think I can say that it’s better than, say, the last two seasons of Clone Wars, I think it’s better than the first season of clone wars.
It’s definitely worth watching.
@Marvelwolf, I’m pretty sure the cartoon is canon
@I Are Lebo, the only cartoons that are cannon are the CGI ones and the forces of destiny shorts
@Marvelwolf, by official declaration?
Also I’m surprised the Forces of Destiny stuff is canon. I’ve only seen a couple, and they seemed like entirely inconsequential shorts.
@I Are Lebo, yeah it was made before the disney acquisition, wasnt on of the few materials chosen to stay cannon, and has a bunch of inconsistencies with other stuff in cannon.
It really is I dont bother watching it but it'll all cannon interactions
@Marvelwolf, I’m still resentful over that. They should’ve just gone the comic route and split the universe. Universe A is the books, games, etc, and the movie stuff is universe 1.
Nooo. Do not like. Do not want.
