@GretaSnitzel, I drive a Mustang but I never think of Prius drivers as stuck up. They can be nice people and understandable why they chose that car. You have a Merry Christmas too my good man, and you keep driving that Prius!

I'll admit that Prius aren't that bad of a car. Some friends and I took one down to Florida from Indiana and made the whole trip on less than $100. Plus the inside is surprisingly roomy and comfortable.

But downshifting helps you slow down without eating up your brakes.

@ProfPeeps97, downshifting at higher speeds will save your brakes but damage your gearbox/engine

@Matchbox Cars, downshifting doesn't hurt anything if you do it right. If anything it helps your engine because it creates a vacuum in the crankcase which can loosen any bulidup of sludge in your engine.

Why yo people slam on the Prius so much? Is it like the "Chevy vs Ford truck" thing, or do people believe that ALL Prius owners are environmental nut jobs? Not a Prius owner myself, but from an economic view, 45+mpg sounds better than 20mpg (dem gas price savings tho).

Good for you! How about you help find alternate energy sources, or better yet, bike? Or maybe you could shut up because one person doesn't make a difference. Rant over.

@Matchbox Cars, yep! But I don't go and gloat about how I may or may not help the environment. I try and do as much as I can. I recycle, I try to limit the water and electricity I use. I could do a lot better, but I don't try and shame everyone into doing more.

I actually drive a Prius. Personally I only do it because its cheap on gas and its the only car I can afford. I always get people tail gating me or flipping me off no matter how fast I'm driving. I try and go 5 or more over the speed limit so other drivers might back off but it doesnt work. It sucks because people think Prius owners are stuck ups but most of us arent. Just had to show the other side & how its not all "go-environment" for Prius owners. Thank you Funnypics community for hopefully respecting my views. And have a Merry Christmas!
