Some people should just use a condom
@FinnG, Some people's parents should have used a condom...
@FinnG, is she going to use a condom? Doesn't that make her part of the problem?
@FinnG, nah, just don't have sex.
Big words for a twelve year old. I know a guy named Candy Man whose got something else big for your...
@877CashNow, a very large van?
Sorry I'm late. I had to kill her.
It must be hard to be that fcking stupid
@redbeardedbastard, Maybe not hard for her but for everyone else in her vicinity
What? I... Just... What??
Ya went full retard kid, never go full retard
@Captain Charles Vane, A. Saying 'retard' as and insult is incredibly offensive and highly insulting. B. The reason for this is the ideal that feminism it bringing women up to be equal to men. Changing words to make the problem seem like it's not as bad and easily forgettable for some people. Feminism is a movement to push women's rights, not to bring men's rights down. Do some actual research on the subject.
@The Doctor Horrible, to point a. It's a quote from a movie, not a term that I use as a general thing and I agree with you, I only meant to make a reference. To point b. Equaletarinasim isn't meant to make the problem seem less bad, it's a term that was created in response to the off shoot of the feminist movement that went full on militant and changed the goal from creating an equal society to a matriarchal society to replace the patriarchal society, picked the wrong person to call out on research friend
@Captain Charles Vane, not really, the media and people that result to "meninism" turned feminism into a joke. The thing is that there are misandrists that are represented in the media as feminists. The same thing happened with the police. There are bad police, not all police are bad. The fact is that more men get away in rape cases, sexual assaults, etc. specifically because they are men. Feminism is a movement to raise women up to equal men, thus feminism.
@The Doctor Horrible, So much bullshjt in one comment
@CriTiKa1, do you say that only because you can't counter it? Everything I've said I can pull up legitimate study after study to back me up. I have debated this constantly and can respect the opinions of many of the people I've discussed this with, but when you resort to that it shows you are both unsure and uneducated on the topic.
@Captain Charles Vane, I don't think it's about logic Rick, I think that word has just become a symbolic issue for powerful groups who think they're doing the right thing.
@The Doctor Horrible, Most studies than feminists use have been debunked several times. So I doubt you can pull up any credible sources.
@The Doctor Horrible, the only things you can back up are that we still presently live in a sexist society, equaletarinasim doesn't discredit that at all, if the name of a movement is that big of deal there are bigger issues at play than just equality, a rose by any other name would smell as sweet
@Captain Charles Vane, I understand that, but it's the principle ideal of why the name is changed for many people. Regardless if you to do what I do, and pull up pure data studies and u corrupted studies from either side, and study them from a social standpoint, many sources can be used to back up my argument. I'm not the type to just glance over something. If I use something, it must be fact checked and crossed with other references. I use multiple sources and viewpoints to formulate my opinion. The name itself doesn't matter, however, the discredit meant and disassociation that comes with it does,
@The Doctor Horrible, there is no discredit meant, it's meant to create distance between the cause and misandrists, if I must use the dictionary term, because they do cause an actual discredit to the movement, I'm not referencing any study only simple logic, again all your studies will do is prove that we still live in a sexist society which is something that I fully recognize, getting worked up about whether I prefer to identify as an equaletarinasist (I will give you that it's an ugly mouthful of a word that I'm pretty sure I've spelled wrong every time) is absolutely silly since at the end of the day we both want the same thing, for everyone to be equal to each other, and isn't that what is really important?
@The Doctor Horrible, thank you Dr. I hope you have an excellent rest of your weekend!
@Captain Charles Vane, I fully respect everything you have just said and thank you for this discussion. I have nothing against what you have said. I'm not saying it's the case every time and the name does serve a purpose, it's just when people use it to pretend it's not that big a deal that it becomes a problem. Sorry if I didn't make that clear, but I have enjoyed reading your side and can only hope you've had the same pleasure.
@CriTiKa1, love how she or he avoids your comment
@The Doctor Horrible, are you saying people pretend to be feminists to destroy the movement? Even if they were the fact that they can convince most people that they are real shows how awful the movement has gotten
@CriTiKa1, court records, hidden inside investigations, women fired after sexual abuse cases are submitted, women that won't be hired because of their ability to get pregnant, women fired because they get pregnant even though they don't take maternity leave. Alabamas govt., of all white males, essentially making legal to fire someone for being a woman without expressly stating it. I'm sorry I didn't see your comment. I was too busy having an actual debate with someone.
@Msfortune, despite that it's still necessary. Just because it's not in the publics best view now doesn't mean it won't be later. These people are just trying to make lives better for their families and yet are but down because of misandrists and misogynysts. All movements have a bad part but it has to be powered through.
@The Doctor Horrible, geez, someone got triggered
@Noice, not really, I enjoy studying social and economic concepts on my own time so this is normal conversation.
@The Doctor Horrible, (precursor: I'm not trying to be mean spirited, but like you I too enjoy discussing political and social issues) As you may have noticed, I downvoted some of your comments only because I disagree with you. One of the comments you said something about Alabama, and how it's legal for men to fire women for being women. That is untrue. Alabama is an 'at will' state meaning that ANY employer can fire someone without expressing a reason as long as it is not discriminatory or retaliatory. What I find disagreeable about most of your posts is the fact that they center mostly on women's suffering. In some of the arguments there seems to be a lack of 'men's views' in them. That means that as a guy, I too can get fired for being myself in Alabama for no reason given. As a guy, it is detrimental to your credit, your employment, and your very personality to be even accused of rape (think bill Cosby before admitting that he drugged women).
@The Doctor Horrible, sorry ran out of room. I can't even begin to say how many reputations have been tarnished by the mere mention of rape and sexual assault. Back in the day, only men could be considered criminals. And I don't mean that I'm complaining or saying my life is so hard because I'm a dude, because it's not. I agree that women have a much harder time surviving and thriving in the modern day workforce, but to imply that men have it easy is incorrect. Furthermore, the movement should be called populist or 'peopleist' because we are all one people living in one great country on one great planet in one great universe under one great God (or whatever you believe in). The constitution on which this very country and its government was founded upon says,"We, the people..." not,"We, the blacks, the gays, the Hispanics, the women, the whites...". We are one people and we ALL deserve equal rights. So yay feminism! Let's give women equal rights, let's give men equal rights, but we'll
@The Doctor Horrible, have to deal with the same consequences. That's why I think you are incorrect in a lot of your statements. Be a peopleist.
@TheCaliforniaBuckeye, as a guy, i also see and experience how these laws effect us too. But the law was reinforced on a case of maternity leave. Yes being accused of rape is horrible for a reputation, but raping someone is a terrible act that happens without punishment much to often. I forgot to include men's views in my argument because I am a guy. My problem with the law is that it was used for sexist purposes and it is far too easy to fake a reason and the Alabama court reinforced that. I accept that you doe voted my comments, and I actually don't care all too much (not so sound mean, I just, don't). I centered on women's suffering because that's what both the feminist and equalitarianist movement is sort of focused on right now. Guys do suffer, white people suffer. But guys and white people font suffer because they're male or white. (Just bringing poc in as an example) women in a sexist society suffer for being women. Men do suffer, but not for the reasons the movement is trying
@TheCaliforniaBuckeye, to counter
@The Doctor Horrible, obviously the Alabama law is a pro-business law, not a people law. Honestly, if you take a step back from that specific law and case, you can see how that law isn't good for anybody but the business owners. What I'm trying to point out is the fact that most of the laws and cases that seem to subordinate women actually in turn subordinate men as well. Although I will say it is strange to hear that a women is the rapist, it is possible in the eyes of the law and she would have to get the same repercussions or treatments as the guy would. It is my own opinion that we don't live in an ultra sexist society as people like to make it. I feel that if equality based on gender were a percent it would be 42%|58%. We don't live in a patriarchal society. We have issues, sure, but not as bad as people (feminists particularly) say we do. My main point of this discussion is this: equality, yes, but equality for all only.
@TheCaliforniaBuckeye, the proper word is egalitarianism by the way. That just means you want equality. Women abuse men as well, just men don't report it, and if they do, they are laughed at.
@The Doctor Horrible, Honestly this whole discussion is pointless. Men and women are already equal in legal sense. Men and women mostly have mutual respect for each other. What more can those feminists ask? You brought up alabama but laws being "used for sexist purpose" is a personal matter. Employer may be sexist but the law isn't. Sexist will always exist no matter how hard feminists try. Let's be real about it. Feminists don't even have a single unified goal. They just say they want equality but they don't even know how to achieve equality and what that equality is. When do you think they will stop? Feminists don't even know themselves.
I think it's cute when females think they're people.
@dategrape, *the distant rumbling of triggering approaches from the east*
These people make being a feminist hard
@sexy grandpa, be an egalitarian, be for equality.
As a feminist, I support gender equalization, because we're all losers and no one is better than someone else. We are not unique little snowflakes.
@Pizzazz, maybe we should all be called equalists
@That Llama, or realists.
@Pizzazz, the word for people who like equality is egalitarian, not feminist.
@Cpzombie, no way, really? *sarcasm* Feminism used to be about wanting equality with man and being equals and wanting everything to be peaceful. Of course, with every formation of a religion/cult/movement, you'll have extremists that attempt to ruin it for everyone. The idiots tend to be the loudest, unfortunately.
That was so dumb... I actually have no reply for once.
We don't need just feminism, we also need a solid new created fully established group called "meninism", I know it kind of exists on the internet but we seriously need this in the public lol
@Furious Burrito, to what? Bring men's rights down? Feminism is to bring women up to a level equal to men.
@The Doctor Horrible, no, to protect the world from feminazis and those feminists who believe it is absolutely 100% required for a man to pull out the chair for the woman at a dinner table.
@Furious Burrito, Look we all know those girls are annoying and have soiled feminism, but don't insult real movements with your BS "Myehh, I'm a man and it makes me sad that some women are mean to us" when you know damn well you have the upper hand in society regardless.
@Furious Burrito, misandrists, not feminazis. Actual feminists want equal rights and too many people think that means taking men's rights a way.
@The Doctor Horrible, News flash, women already have equal rights. There is not a single right that I have that a woman doesn't.
@CriTiKa1, legally, you are correct. But by social influence that isn't true. Illegal things happen by loopholes and straight ignorance by the system we have built. So legally, you have the same rights, realistically though, you're you are incorrect.
@The Doctor Horrible, Yes, realistically, I am incorrect. Women aren't treated like men. They get shorter prison sentences. Employers are forced to fill a gender quota, so even if I am more qualified than a female applicant, she'll get the job. Our education system caters to girls. You're right, we aren't socially equal.
@CriTiKa1, Let's not forget that men often lose custody of their children in court battles even when the woman is a terrible parent, men are expected to be strong breadwinners (as opposed to the opposite expectation for women), and in drunk sex situations females get the benefit of the doubt even though both partied are wasted. Women deal with social issues, men fight against social issues as well along with a lot of legal bs. Feminism is for women, and doesn't create equality. It is a wonderful thing that starts to balance the scales on ONE SIDE, feminists self-patronize talking about equality for all are dead wrong.
@CriTiKa1, because the wrong measures have been put in place, but even despite the gender quota, less women fill positions and are paid less despite qualifications. I understand where you're coming from, but it goes deeper than the surface you just scratched. The details are more intricate and over all women have the shorter end of the stick. This isn't spathe case in all situations, but systematically, in a full view, the scales are tipped in toward the male genders favor. Giving more to one side to balance it isn't illogical, but taking away is. That's what the gender quotas do, they take away, which is bad. They also give, but very little compared to what they should do. Different measures need to be put in place but I do get what you're saying
@The Doctor Horrible, remember feminism is the belief that gender equality can be reached only focusing on the problems of one.
@The Doctor Horrible, yeah men dominate great fields like plumber, fisherman, sewage removal we need equality in all fields
@The Doctor Horrible, the only reason men are paid more is because average pay for a woman is pooled from different branches and women usually have lesser paying jobs. Male average income is pooled the same way and a lot of major companies are male driven and men usually have higher paying jobs. Women not getting promoted is most likely the sexist part
@onewhowatches, that's.. That's kind of the point... If 50% of the population is female, then it should be about even. Instead a woman makes $0.70 to every $1.00 a guy makes. I understand where the gap comes from, which is exactly the problem
@Msfortune, also CEO's don't forget about that great field.
@The Doctor Horrible, teachers get paid shjt, and that is mostly women. Other jobs like that as well.
@The Doctor Horrible, sure once the low tier jobs start to get job equality then we can work on the higher ones. Got to start from the bottom like everyone else
@The Doctor Horrible, women getting degrees in gender studies making them unfit for jobs such as CEOs? Or women picking easier fulfilling jobs instead of hard well paying jobs? Remember you'd have to work almost constantly to be a ceo
@Furious Burrito, how is this already such a popular thread lol
Well go fvck yourself dumb bjtch
Interesting words you just made up
As a feminist, this is what's wrong with feminism
This entire post, comments included, is hurting my brain...
So 2015 is the year of 7th grade femenists? Greaaaaat.
If this person was a country other countries would be invading her for her iron.
........that's just a longer version of...okay
Down with extrisimism
