to all those who work to save lives, thank you
As someone who wants to go into medicine, I kinda want to put this on my med school application. "Why do you want to become a doctor?" "I want to beat the shjt outta Death"
@Beggar Mugger, it's funny that you picture it like that, and I see the monkey slapping the man's hand away from petting the puppy.
@ThePandaPool , that's to make it seem more epic. For me it's more like that episode of Tom and Jerry where Tom draws a line away from Spikes doghouse and hits him and then goes behind the line so he can't get bit and then makes Spike turn a tree branch into a baseball bat and hits him with it
@Beggar Mugger, do it. Med school is fun and awful all at the same time.
@Beggar Mugger, I’m an intensivist and anesthesiologist and this way of putting it really hit home. I’m keeping it with me.
@Beggar Mugger, I don't know how you dare, I'm quite the coward when it come to stuff like this, I suppose the job chooses the person
@Dr Crowntwig, I'm glad to hear that! Thank you for all your hard work
@butternut squash, there's nothing cowardly about it. Everyone has things they can do and things they can't. For me, being a doctor allows me to make the most positive impact on people's lives while also being interesting but I still have a long way to go lol
Whenever people tell me they’re scared at work I always tell them that the team they have working on them will lift mountains to make sure they get home ok. I never make promises, but it’s hard when that’s what the patient wants
I'm a paramedic. This speaks to me. The job sucks sometimes. But it rocks other times.
Coming from an ED nurse, this is beautiful and inspirational
The things doctors have to go through, reminds me of a picture I saw years ago online. Someone saw a doctor late at night in the emergency room parking lot hunched over and balling his eyes out cause he found the save a teenager that came from a bad accident or was shot. Had to power through and go on with this shift.
Go back and read it, you fool. It’s worth every femto-second it takes of your miserable existence.
