Is anyone else morbidly curious about seeing a version of the film with the originally planned Sonic Abomination?
@Bad Suggestions, at times I try not to think about the towel scene with the og design
@TanktheTitanium, would be a fantastic torture device...images of og Sonic...
@Bad Suggestions, i think the movie looks kinda generic and bad. While the sonic design looks much better now i think the nightmare version would have probably made the movie more interesting to watch.
@Bad Suggestions, I assume it’s in a locked vault somewhere, never being allowed to see the light of day
It did seem very "I'm fighting for my friends and I'll stop at nothing to help this random hedgehog I met 3 days ago" kinda generic. Also, I keep finding it hard to see this Sonic as actual Sonic. His personality isnt that of how I remember it. How I remember it, or at least my favorite Sonic personality, is that of Sonic Adventure 2. I think it did the best job of encapturing Sonic at the most interesting level, kinda rambunctious but also serious at times. This one just seems goofy all the time and overall just kinda corny.
@Bad Suggestions, They need to have that as a bonus feature on the blu ray, lol.
@Bad Suggestions, well now I am.
Theory. The original version of Sonic only existed to create controversy and hype around the movie. It was never a serious version of Sonic. Sonic was "fixed" all along.
It looks like Sonic but it's still bad, they should have found a happy medium between realistic and cartoonish for a live action film, a la Detective Pikachu.
The premise for the movie sucks anyway, it should be entirely in Sonic's world and Eggman shows up there somehow if they want an origin story so bad
edit: all they needed to do to the old design was make the eyes larger and give him gloves
Yeah, 100% seeing this now mostly because they actually listened and fixed it. The other is because it actuallg still looks pretty good.
