No, unfortunately other people are just assholes. Especially to customer service reps at cable companies (some deservedly, but certainly not all).
@Board Stiff, I had a customer service rep say something similar. Man, people suck.
@Board Stiff, well he’s clearly outsourced, and they can barely understand me when I articulate, so these reps must have been actually good.
After expressing gratitude like that a flat no??? Maybe it's my southern upbringing coming out combined with knowing how bad customer service is, but I'd have been like "No problem at all! Thanks for being so helpful!" Or something like that
@Mantis Tobaggan, I was raised in the north, and that "no" felt pretty rude in general with that gratitude
A genuine recommendation for people who want to start in IT. Start as a phone IT rep. Doesn't sound appealing? There's a good reason. When applying to these jobs, work for internal help desk services. Ones that serve company employees, NOT customers. You'll have a much better time, and be treated much better. No one typically will treat those within their organisation like shjt because they're afraid of who you could know.
People can be massive asshole, especially when protected by a screen and keyboard
I wanked off to the 9/11 towers this morning. My penis is happy
No quality is reviewing their session
You're probably the only one who didn't chew him out
I had a very similar chat a couple weeks ago, makes me think this is standard now
