American education system at its finest
@The nOly One, that's not even relevant
@Captain Swordsman, the American education system teaches memorization rather than actual learning, that is exactly what happens here
@The nOly One, pretty sure there are plenty of education systems like that out there. Test scores are consisted Gospel in Europe.
@The nOly One, that's not true at all, but whatever
@Fearless Fapper, enlighten me on how it is false?
@The nOly One, There's thousands University teaching to hundreds thousands teachers with different methods, every single teacher has his own method. They all have different life with different experiences, You can't generalize like that
@Fearless Fapper, I'm not talking about upper education, I'm talking about from grades 1-12 where the American education system is revolved around standardized testing, which inspires pure memorization of material rather than legitimate learning. Most students will not remember material from year to year simply because they no longer have the need for it since they already took a test on it. I'm not saying teachers are terrible at their jobs, I'm saying the system is screwed up
@The nOly One, I'm talking about University teaching to elementary and high school teachers, every single teacher has his own method
@Fearless Fapper, like I said, its not a teachers method that inspires learning or not, its the end game. The end game is to score high on standardized tests, therefore, short term memorization is more useful than actual learning. Teachers can use a variety of different methods to get the material across, but ultimately the system inspires students to do nothing more than memorize something the night before
@The nOly One, What if I told You... I memorize the stuff I learn. My teachers are telling me, hey the exam is gonna be like that, You have to memorize this and this, but the whole year we are learning. If You don't give a damn about something, You ain't gonna learn it, you're just gonna read a bit before the exam and pass it, but what's the point to do that. I always wanted to learn as much as possible. No I don't give a single Fvck about Shakespeare, but I still prefer learn about him than losing 100 hours of my life not doing anything in class.
