Once upon a time, “fun” was a noun, not an adjective that could be modified to form the non-words “funner” and “funnest”.
That’s so wild. I wonder if they conceptualized the idea of fun at that time as well. If so, can you imagine the collective impact that would have had on the world? Suddenly the idea of fun as a thing that could be enjoyed and pursued bursting into people’s minds. Thank God.
