@I Am Captain Obvious, This is so fvcked. I used to volunteer at the humane society and I worked for Pet Supplies Plus for a long time. Pit Bulls are one of the best behaved dog breeds I have ever encountered. They have such a high emotional intelligence and are, in my opinion, the best option for a family friendly dog. To hear that a company who’s entire existence revolves around pet knowledge refused service to a pit bull makes my stomach churn. People who believe the negative myths about pit bulls are like the antivaxxers of the dog world. FVCK. THEM. ALL. Pit bulls used to be called “nanny dogs” because of how good they are with families. Sorry for the rant, but I’m pissed. Thank you for showing Mila love.

@Rook, i believe it may be store specific, but it happens at too many stores in my area. Read my other comment, the petsmart near me are the ones that give them a bad name. I've had owners tell me that before they came to me for training, they went to petsmart and they used electric collars on their dogs

@Rook, I don't know, I've gone to petsmart to board my pit before and they told me it was going to be an ungodly amount of money for day and they would let Waffles out twice a day for the bathroom. She wasn't allowed to play with the others bc she's a pit. I would have to pay twice as much for solo play time. Otherwise, she'd be locked up all day.

@eleven, that’s actually not true, it’s not just a “few news stories”. There’s mountains of data proving that pits are responsible for more injuries and fatalities than any other breed. Now with that said, I don’t accept it’s a breed issue but more of a cultural issue with those that tend to own pits over other dog breeds. What is it about pits that certain segments of the population prefer over other breeds? And why do these individuals turn the animals violent?
Im a dog trainer at petco and seriously fvck petsmart. A few weeks ago i had a woman bring her pitbull in and he was a bundle of love and energy, i got to the floor with him to meet my new friend and the owner just cried. I was obviously weirded out but she said she had just gone to petsmart and they turned down her dog for training and events and that as a breed he wasn't capable of passing the CGC (essentially the well trained dog test) and i told her they're wrong and now little Mila is 3 weeks away from graduating
