Why are you booing me? I'm right!
"How about you read the manga?"
My gf and I watch MHA and listen with subtitles but not cuz we're weebs. Honestly we both think the dub makes most of the characters sound really cringey, overly edgy, or like a little bitch (Midoriya's dub in particular makes him sound like the bitchiest bitch that ever did bitch)
@The Puppet Man, yeah, Japanese voice actors are better. The good American ones are rare
@The Puppet Man, I watch it dubbed and I like it. But it's all just a matter of taste. I can watch some anime subbed. I usually prefer dubbed though.
@Mattizzle9, yea to each their own, I'm also not much of an anime lover anyway. MHA is the only one I care for right now and I watched Yughio years ago as a kid but that's it.
@The Puppet Man, I can understand that. Loved Yugioh. And Dragonball of course. I'm more into anime now than I was back then.
@Sortofslobro, video games took them all, not much left for anime.
@The Puppet Man, counterpoint, FMA brotherhood is better dubbed.
@Sortofslobro, also I think watching an american cartoon with Japanese dub would be worse than the original English, for example I've heard many Japanese prefer English for Disney movies because it sounds more natural.
@The Puppet Man, I usually like dubs (less attention required), but there have been some weird choices of voice actors at times. My wife wanted to watch Sailor Moon, so I found the Viz dub for her - all good, but they hadn’t done the most recent arc so we found a different dub. Oh sweet zombie Jesus, it was bad. I swear they’d decided to voice the whole damned thing with middle aged and slightly too aggressive women - and they Americanised it, by giving them all western sounding names.
@The Puppet Man, that’s because he is, did you forget he’s always crying lol
A haiku in response
Subs are better than
Dubs. For example: omae
Wa mou shindeiru
So this is definitely a "to each their own" and honestly we are all weebs unless you watch it Raw. I prefer subs and will never ever watch an anime dubbed. Even dragonball I've gone back and rewatched subbed. English voice actors just do not do justice to the way that the Japanese language sounds and conveys the message. The translation always sounds cringey. That being said I've seen my Japanese friends literally cringe at some original voice acting (especially Kansai and other dialects) because of how over the top and bad it is.
Submicrowave noisebanging on a trashcandubs. fight me
My only response is Matthew 5: Verses 38 to 48
