No joke, prices are at 7 a gallon in South Carolina
Okay.. So I'm in the bathroom (obviously) and I guy literally sprinted in, slammed the door, and just destroyed the toilet. His sigh of relief was the longest I have ever heard
@thesamfactory, so... we're you still on that toilet?.. or where you done?
I'm in Texas. Is there actually a gas shortage?
@Saucy Salad, I'm in Texas too, I really don't get this.
@Saucy Salad, also in Texas, this is the first I've heard of it
@Saucy Salad, well prices in fl have been going up slowly, so i guess yes?
@Saucy Salad, there was a gas line break I think so there is a shortage, starting in Alabama I think.
@Saucy Salad, in North Carolina almost all gas stations are closed because they can't get any gas
@Saucy Salad, In Texas as well, I paid $1.68 for gas yesterday. I'm unaware of any gas shortage in the south.
@Paperknifesaint, Texas here too, no shortage, no spike in prices as far as I can see
@Saucy Salad, yeah, I'm in Alabama, hasn't hit my area yet, but it's getting closer, I think it's NC, FL, AL ,and GA that are affected by the pipeline breakage
@Saucy Salad, its just another case of "oh no were running out of gas so we need it to cost more" and then in a few months "well we tapped into the reserves so gas will go back to normal" but is still 10 cents higher than usual. Less of a conspiracy and more of shady yet legal economics
@Saucy Salad, I did notice that gas was a tad more expensive than usual, but not enough that I was concerned there was a shortage.
@Saucy Salad, we are not part of these Southern troubles. We pump our own oil in Texas so should be OK
@PickUpDaSope, no- there was literally a pipe line that burst that cut off gas distribution to several states. Not Texas because we are amazing and pump our own oil...
@Saucy Salad, it went from $1.79 to $2.23 in about 4 days :/
@Saucy Salad, it's in the south east but not really Florida, or at least I haven't noticed. The local news this morning said some gas stations (in Georgia I think) are completely out of gas
@Paperknifesaint, @yourleftnut hahahaha thats crazy to hear its basically always 3 dollars a gallon in california min but it has been a little lower lately, I'll never forget years back when it got to the highest i ever saw it, 4.75
@Saucy Salad, Tennessee. No gas within 50 miles of my house right now....
@Ze Grammar Nazi, I live in Franklin, right outside Nashville and we have plenty of gas, it's just crazy expensive.
@Jebodeiasque, I live in Bethpage. A little hole in the wall town on the Kentucky border.
@Paperknifesaint, dear god in jealous of you
@Saucy Salad, im in Texas (and do work with oil and gas companies) and hell to the fvck no there's no shortage, there's a massive surplus still. I think it's just referring to the fact that we're one of the oil and gas capitals of the world
@Saucy Salad, jk i read the comment on the next pic, I did not know that happened :O
@Saucy Salad, I'm in Georgia and a lot of gas stations around me have been running out
@Saucy Salad, south east only a oil line busted luckily i have a full tank
@Saucy Salad, I'm in Arkansas and haven't noticed.
@Saucy Salad, everywhere in North Carolina near my house is out of gas, and the ones that do have gas spiked their prices up by 50-60 cents
@Saucy Salad, not sure about the whole sputh, but there was a gas leak here on the east coast. A pipe busted, and places have been out of gas, whats left is absurdly high prices.
@MrBadger13, somebody please tell me Mississippi is okay. Not socially, I know we are screwed there. Just gas.
@Saucy Salad, Yeah, our pipeline got 420rekt up here in Tennessee and government regulations prevented raising prices, so as soon as people heard that gas could run out, they rushed to the pumps and it did run out
Its like Mad Max in North Carolina
@I said, seriously. They've declared a "state of emergency" so the gas stations would stop trying to jump prices up 50-60 cent. Almost every gas stop in my city is out of gas.
@Psycho Kitty, not to mention Charlotte too
Le gusta la gasolina, dame mas gasolina. Como le encanta la gasolina, dame mas gasolina
South Carolina here. I heard about this, and immediately filled the tank on my truck. I've been babying her everywhere I go, because 12mpg don't make a tank last.
Arkansas. I don't get it.
@the angry mail lady, Same! :c
In Louisiana wouldn't know
For a bit of info, in Louisiana we're having massive job losses due to the oil field becoming dying industry here. Towns built around petroleum products are dying. A ton of people are moving to Texas and California for work. A lot of jobs here are entirely based on oil and gas and ruins off purple are being layed off. Just saying it's a sore topic because lots of people I know have lost stakes in companies they helped create and my dad lost the 5% of ownership of the company he helped grow to where it's at and has to go around Louisiana, Texas, and Oklahoma laying his friends off. Not a good time here. Sorry for the long post, this picture just pissed me off.
@Goldwork, Louisiana's economy relies almost completely on oil, and everything is f**ked.
@Goldwork, I think it's referring to the recent pipeline leak
Created an account just to comment on this: there was a pipeline that broke in Alabama and it has caused a gas shortage in mainly Georgia. I live here in Georgia and every gas station has been out for about 3 days. Prices are about $2.50.
In Michigan, winter is coming
Virginia here.... Is there a shortage?
In Alabama, doesn't understand meme
I don't know to what you are referring. Gas prices haven't changed more than 3 cents in almost half a year now. Shout out from ATX!
What's this about a gas shortage?
Uh... I just payed $1.61/gal. I'm fine.
I'm in Florida. No idea what this is about.
I live in SC. All of our stations are out of premium and mid but regular has only gone up like 3 cents and I'm pretty sure the only reason we ran out because everyone freaked out and bought a full tank in the same day
Gas is $1.89 (give or take) down here in alabama.
At large university and never have to leave campus other than walking downtown, not affected.
Illinois. Y'all got anymore of them governors? We keep losing ours
