I’m pretty sure I can find you a better generational divide originating around separating lights and darks that has nothing to do with clothes.
@Fuggles, I totally do this and I'm only 31.
Don't want them dirty coloreds with my whites.
*Braces for impact*
@Drunk Pantless Uncle, dirties of color*
@Fuggles, that only works if you aren’t in the Deep South
@Mag3rPayne, I always separate my dirties of color from my privileged dirties
That’s what the mixed wash setting is for. I never separate and I’m nearly…
well let’s just say I’m over 40.
I don’t nearly have enough light/grey clothes to wash a load by itself so it goes with dark.
I separate whites from colours.... Wait... No
laughs in only having black clothes
Not including my ever-growing kids, I think between my Wife and I we own…1 white shirt
I’m in my 20s and I do this… probably due to all the brainwashing about laundry from my parents
Don’t have to if you wear black socks and don’t wear white shirts.
@troubled panda, your comment just flashed me back to that stupid black socks song about how they don't get dirty they made us sing in school. always grossed me out, like wtf is the school teaching us?
Pretty sure the 70’s parents rave about splitting the darks from the lights
