Well this advantage didn’t work out
A real libertarian is against the federal government officers beating, tear gassing and kidnapping its own civilians without cause. If only because of the precedent it sets. I’ll point out the federal officers aren’t showing any ID, and are abducting civilians into unmarked cars. The bill of rights in this country isn’t respected anymore. People just cheer for their side, even when they do something despicable and clutch their pearls when their opposition does something similar.
@Spetsnaz , Libertarians & Commies: "We can kill each other when this is over."
@Spetsnaz , a real libertarian supports tear gassing and arresting anyone who threatens the civil liberties of another person.
@Spetsnaz , the Feds in Portland specifically are enforcing two things. Vandalism and destruction of federal property and assualts of federal officers in that lawful duty. Anyone throwing projectiles, incendiaries, or explosives, anyone shining high powered lasers into the eyes of federal officers, anyone setting fires especially with the intention of setting fire to a building with people inside, and anyone preventing the lawful arrest of another person has no rational claim to their own health and safety since they do not respect it in others. If they don't want to deal with feds, don't fvck with federal property. Literally, if they moved the protest one block away the feds would have no authority or jurisdiction. Why do we not concern ourselves when a matador gets gored?
@AverageIdiot, most libertarians I know are questioning why a federal building is even there in the first place.
@wtninja, most libertarians I know are asking why we have a fed in the first place. They used to just be mail men.
@Hagasay, what even is a real libertarian? All the libertarians I talk to say the one I talked to previous wasn’t real. I’m going with they’re all unicorns.
@wtninja, yeah purity spirals are a nightmare but if there isn't any sense of exclusivity to the party, movement, idea or whatever you want to call it then it becomes meaningless. Unfortunately we don't yet have an answer to this other that to muddle through and figure it out hopeful that more reasonable minds prevail.
@Hagasay, I’m fine with a diversity of ideas and opinions, even intraparty. I just don’t like the no real Scotsman stuff.
@wtninja, unfortunatly anarchist believe they are libertarians, they are not. Libertarians believe in the necessity of government, but that it should opperate under the idea of allowing its people the most freedoms possible.
@wtninja, read the statement on the party website. I think they outlined it well. That's where I went to see what a 'real' libertarian was, and found out it I align better with it than the main parties. Worth a read to figure it out if nothing else
@KushAndAnarchy, that’s entirely fair and I am aware of the party platform. In particular, it being the opposite side of authoritarian on the political spectrum.
My critique is more of individuals that I know saying that others are “not libertarians” because of belief in policy x or y. More importantly, I was just trying to make a joke. I actually consider myself to be largely libertarian on most things. I just try to not have serious political conversations online. It usually never leads anywhere beneficial.
I got more, can you keep them too?
Bad guys always need to keep sad puppies on standby, instead of simp shjt like this
Who confuses the two? One is liberal authoritarian, the other is just anti-authoritarian.
*starts warming up the helicopter turbine
I can get behind this
