@Abominable Snowdog, what about getting into strange men with robots?
@Abominable Snowdog, *On a pedo-van* This isn't a robot!
God i hated the ending to this anime
@fittytuck, I liked it. But I prefer the movie, The end of evangelion
@Zodiac308, is that the anime name? Evangelion?
@Zodiac308, neon genesis evangelion. The 1997 movie is called "the end of evangelion" it's a very intelligent and philosophical show. Once you figure out the subtext, that is. I can't praise it enough
@Zodiac308, *spoiler warning for anyone who hasn't seen the movie* I was ok with the anime's ending, but I hated the way End of Evangelion ended. It was certainly a cool visual experience, but story wise I just couldn't stand it. To me it was basically "Everyone dies, The end". And where does that leave Asuka and Shinji? They're basically the last two people in the entire universe after humanity has evolved/been destroyed. Will they drift off into space for the rest of eternity or what? The film ended before that could be explained. Anyway I really didn't like how it ended, and I hope the rebuild tetralogy doesn't end that way either
@Sexy Homunculus, I love how it's left open to the viewers interpretation. I thought of like this, shinji started instrumentality but changed his mind when he realized that it's necessary to live with other people in order to experience all of life's joys and pains. The Third Impact is rejected and Lilith decays and dies, releasing its anti-AT Field and allowing separate beings to potentially come back into existence if they come the same realization.
@Zodiac308, I don't care for films that leave it up to you to interpret because I hate uncertainty. Films like End of Evangelion and 2001: A Space Odyssey don't really give you anything to work with. I'm a big fan of Stanley Kubrick and I've seen 2001 three times but I still don't get it. I don't know if I ever want to see EoE again because I invested so much time getting to know the characters while watching the show and then to see that happen to them and still not know exactly how it'll end just leaves me disappointed
@Sexy Homunculus, I see your point, and even though I disagree, I can respect you point of view. Well, this has been a fun discussion. until next time...
