Honestly I wouldn’t mind the human drama if it weren’t so boring every single time
It was a pretty good Godzilla movie. It had more action than the first but I still felt like they were holding back. I really appreciated the references to other Godzilla movies and they actually played Godzilla's theme and it was beautiful. The whole soundtrack was fantastic to be honest.
All in all a fun summer flick
@JewishXenu, I want to see it. Glad it was better than the last one. That one was honestly a let down.
@JewishXenu, that one scene towards the end where the theme kicked in is my all time favorite godzilla scene
It was a major step up from the 2014 movie that barely had Godzilla in it. Can't wait to see him take on King Kong.
@MrGrey89, I'm wondering what changes they're going to make to Kong for the movie. If the Kong in skull island fought Godzilla in this movie, he would get absolutely destroyed. Godzilla was 3.5x taller and 570x heavier than Kong so it wouldnt even be close. That being said, in skull island they mention that Kong is still growing . Skull island took place in 1973 and Godzilla vs King Kong takes place in 2020 so that's 47 years for him to grow. Kong needs to get a whole lot bigger to stand a chance vs Godzilla.
Realistically, they're probably going to end up with a common enemy so it will be just like batman v superman.
@BIessthefaII, by what I've read, Kong in the skull island movie was just an adolescent so he's gotta get pretty close to Godzilla's height or else it's gonna be a short fight.
@MrGrey89, yeah he was like 108ft 160 tons in the movie and Godzilla was 350ft 90,000 tons lol. I'm guessing Kong will be ~250-300 feet but he really needs to put some weight on if he hopes to stand a chance. 158 ton gorilla punching a 90,000 ton giant lizard isnt going to do much.
@BIessthefaII, if they do end up joining up
I hope for Mecha Ghidorah to come out of nowhere
Yeah, but the human drama nonsense outweighed the fight scenes by like a lot. If they just had 2 hours or monsters going ham on each other I would have liked it a lot more. But also Dr. Stanton. Monsters fights and his snippy comebacks.
@TheHippoAbides, still worth seeing Eleven giving that one bastard the finger
@Sexy Homunculus, True. But Charles Dance is bae.
@TheHippoAbides, save some love for Ken Watanabe
@TheHippoAbides, yea, there was still a fair bit of nonsense, but honestly im okay with the end result because HOLY HELL did we get some epic scenes
It was fvcking amazing!
Oh, you want more monster battles in your kaiju movie? Because that worked out SOOOOOOO well in the old movies!
Seriously, the more you show the monsters, the sillier they become...
@Suicide Squad Sucks, better than almost never seeing the kaiju in a kaiju movie
@Suicide Squad Sucks, yes, it DID work well in the old movies, theyre a lot of fvcking fun to watch
@Suicide Squad Sucks, After seeing Pacific Rim, I'll take silly monster fights over cliche human drama any day.
Ok the human drama was laughably bad. And although it did have more titans in it they made it seem like they were gonna have 15 monsters when they really only had 4 the other were in the movie for like a minute
