@YourProudFather, Trump outright told rioters to storm the White House to prevent the elections results from being respected, and they did, so the White House is currently full of violent and armed rioters preventing any government workers from doing their jobs on fear of death. These same rioters are also surrounding the White House, and surrounding them are fully armed riot police trying to form a wall between the rioters and the rest of the city. This happened all day long, and is still happening now, though has been mostly handled. Many world leaders and American politicians are calling this both terrorism and an attack against democracy, and several rioters have threatened to repeat this again.

@Runnin with scissors, I do as well, and I hope they manage to charge as many of the rioters as possible. I do know there's already plans for Trump to suffer serious consequences for his actions in inciting the riots, which I'm also completely for, because a democratically elected leader who refuses to accept democratic results and incites violence when they lose is not someone we need leading a democratic nation.
-
@Your Waifu, Exactly. I hope those jackasses that brought guns as a means to threaten those people get minimum 5 years. No slap on the wrist they shouldnt be allowed to participate in US democracy because they clearly don't want to and aren't the kind that should contribute to the decision making of the country. Trump should face consequences just like someone who shouts fire in a crowded theater when there is no fire. I'm more interested in what will happen with his Georgia phone call though because that's got purely direct evidence of trying to change the outcome of an election through non democratic means.
-
@Captain Swordsman, those people are legally defined as domestic terrorists, and their goal was to overturn the results of a democratic election, so you're literally saying you support terrorism and also support overturning democracy. Also consider that these "heroes" of yours intentionally killed at least one person who worked at the White House, and injured several other people.
-
@Captain Swordsman, George Washington wasnt defined as a domestic terrorist because there was no such thing as terrorism back then, and the only time he killed people was after he declared a war for independence, at which point he was no longer a citizen of a British colony and therefore not beholden to their laws. Before he declared war he and other citizens of the colonies only ever protested non-violently. They didnt raid the capitol and kill and injure people. I'd also note that by the actual definition of the terms, if this riot had actually accomplished keeping Trump in office through force then Trump would by definition become a totalitarian dictator, because his rule would be through force rather than through the opinion of the citizens. The only blind one here is you, and I can tell you're being intentionally blind from the fact that you completely ignored my statement about how these rioters intentionally murdered people who were only doing their jobs.
-
@ConfusedWhat, he didn't specify the White House, but he did several times tell his supporters to storm the capitol and secure his position by force if he lost, even encouraging them all the way up until the point where they actually stormed the White House. He only started going back on this statement after people actually got killed by the rioters, at which point he acted as if he was against it the whole time.
-
@Your Waifu, and you're the one being intentionally blind if you think allowing Joe Biden who can't fill a classroom won in a fair election that every court refused to even hear any challenges to because they knew they couldn't fight it on the merits, because it's the truth. The people who stormed Capitol Hill taught the elites that they're not invincible, and if nothing else that makes it all worth it and makes them heroes
-
@Captain Swordsman, I don't care about Joe Biden, and I didn't vote for him. But this isn't about that, it's about the fact that the election is over and people are trying to overturn the democratically elected candidate through force. You're deluded if you think this is even remotely about politics any more. Also, you clearly haven't done much research if you think that woman is the only one who died, and you clearly missed the part where she was part of a crowd smashing windows to try to enter a locked corridor, or the part where the officer who shot her was put on extended leave and is due to face consequences. You also missed the part where the officer Brian Sicknick died due to injuries he sustained trying to help stop the riots.
-
@Your Waifu, you're deluded if you think there was a democratic election process at all. You're right about one thing though, this isn't about politics anymore. This is about people who want a world worth living for themselves and their descendents and knowing that people like you are standing in the way of it, and trying desperately to do something about that.
-
@Captain Swordsman, but if you do really want to talk politics, you should already know if you've been following the election to any degree that Joe Biden is so senile that he'll probably be declared unfit for office the moment he takes presidency, which will result in his VP becoming the actual President. Which is still besides the point, but does render your entire argument against him moot.
-
@Captain Swordsman, I'm clearly not going to convince you otherwise, so instead I'll say this. If you're so adamant that these riots are in no way a threat to democracy and are actually a good thing, then why don't you participate and see how long it takes you to get arrested? Because clearly nothing short of getting arrested and seeing a jury vote you guilty will convince you that it's against democracy.
-
@Your Waifu, that still wouldn't convince me it's against democracy, genius, if anything it would strengthen my resolve as a martyr for a just cause, just as I'll see the Capitol Hill Heroes when they get arrested. Truth is, though. I'm too lazy and chickenshjt to do it myself. Might be down for some organized civil disobedience in my state capital though, if someone else gets around to organizing it for me.
-
@Captain Swordsman, nobody would see you as a martyr, just like nobody sees any of the rioters as martyrs. You know how history already remembers these rioters? As domestic terrorists who are attacking democracy. The leaders of every first world country are calling them that. Not only that, but this is actually likely going to make any form of civil disobedience in the near future both less likely and more severely punished, definitely in the US, and possibly in all other first world countries as well. The government will also most likely restructure its security forces to make it much harder for this to happen. Which means if these people actually do try this again like they claim they will, then they'll most likely be arrested or worse immediately. Now, with all this in mind, I know I can't change your opinion, but you should realize by now that your opinion is so universally unnaccepted that should you choose to continue believin it you will almost certainly be alone in holding it.
Unless you're in DC right now
