Do yourself a favor and skip the comments on this one. Just a political sh!tstorm blowing through
@HonorableSquidman, but it just keeps going on and on... there's so much reading!
@HonorableSquidman, How is there a political sh- oh. Damn.
@HonorableSquidman, you truly are honorable. Thanks.
@HonorableSquidman, (Looks at second top comment)
Yep, seems about right
@HonorableSquidman, there’s a dog face in the kids hair in the pic, just to change the mood around here
@HonorableSquidman, should’ve listened to you.
@HonorableSquidman, this comment brought me to the comments
She won’t stand for that insult.
They shouldn’t force kids to stand and pledge anything
@benderama, Ah you must be one those jackass's that wear their hat during the National Anthem.
@Macaroni Jesus , why does that make me a jackass?
@benderama, It violates official flag code which makes it an automatic insult. We are officially instructed in the flag code that military personnel are to stand at attention saluting the flag, Civilian Citizens are to stand and put their hand over their heart (if they can stand), Veterans can choose to salute or put hand over heart, non-citizen civilians are asked to stand respectfully silent. And civilian men are to remove their hats.
@Macaroni Jesus , I do none of these things because I have no respect for the US government and the flag is their banner
@benderama, whether you respect it or not it is the country you live in.
@kofmen96, so if you lived in Germany in the late 30s you would respect the Nazi banner even though you don’t agree with what it represents?
@benderama, how many German soldiers were actually Nazis, the anti-semitic type. They believed in their country just as we should. There's a word called patriotism.
@kofmen96, I think the only people that belong here are the native Americans
@benderama, how is that relevant?
@benderama, No one is forcing you to stay, you can just leave if you don't like it here.
@kofmen96, how am I supposed to respect an establishment that thinks it’s ok to commit genocide and blow up its own buildings and murder its own people and use its own military as mercenaries
@benderama, so, you do not believe it is okay to support any country which has committed genocide. I'll mark off every Western, Eastern, African, and Native American culture that has ever existed. Militaries have always been used as mercenaries. And with regards to 911, I'm sorry you don't understand material science.
@benderama, as temp goes up the yield and tensile strength of materials decrease proportionally. I realize I'm currently arguing with stupid so I'll assume your use of red herrings means I claim victory this day.
@kofmen96, red herrings? Do you honestly believe their story that it was terrorists that flew planes into the buildings? That was all staged so they would have an excuse to go to war and make a profit
@Macaroni Jesus , I enjoy how he upvoted all his and down voted all of our comments
@benderama, Oof, you probably believe that planes have a switch to deploy Chemtrails. You gotta go outside instead of reading bs on the internet, my dude.
@kofmen96, Me too. I always find it funny what people will do once they get called out on their BS.
@Macaroni Jesus , everyone ‘member Micheal fassbender?
@kofmen96, we already had this convo, #fassbenderdrama go look for it
@benderama, since last time is was asked you didn't answer, if you hate America why don't you leave? Especially if it's for native Americans only as you say, unless your a native American why do you still live there? Also, point out a country that hadn't done any of the things you've complained that the US has done. The US isn't perfect but it's a helluva lot better in comparison to the majority of the world. Finally as for the 9/11 comments, you went full retard, never go fill retard.
@Bloodthirsty Penguin, as with most people who say the US sucks, native Americans are the only ones who should be here, or “omg if trump is elected I’m moving to Canada”; they never mean anything they say. Leave the country if you hate it so much, go to Canada, give all of your material possessions and wealth to some random native American and live on the street. They just complain to complain. Maybe they believe it gives them some moral high ground
@benderama, at first, I was on your side. Blind patriotism is a very bad thing, and I totally agree with the sentiment of not wanting children to be compelled to basically worship a flag inextricably linked with warfare.
But your reasoning listed is absolutely retarded. Regardless of whether or not you personally are a Native American, to take the stance that the only people that belong in the country are the natives is absolutely idiotic, and pays no attention to reality.
Your stance on 9/11 has been debunked multiple times and is wholly illogical.
@Richard Cypher, holy flame wars batman
@benderama, if you think those are the only people who should be here then start the movement by getting the hell out
@I Are Lebo, I fully agree, but from elementary to highschool, we did the pledge of allegiance. But we never really thought about it. It was as just a daily routine we did because we had to. Otherwise none of us really cared about it.
@Richard Cypher, oh wait he can't go to Canada because they were technically committing genocide - all the way to 1996
@Macaroni Jesus , while I think his reasoning is idiotic, I believe that people should have a choice to stand or sit for the pledge/anthem as they wish. As long as they aren't actively disturbing others, it doesn't matter. My parents (both former military) believe the same thing, and I am (hopefully) future military. They fought, and I will fight, to defend people's freedom to express themselves how they wish. While I will always stand for the anthem, I don't believe anyone should be forced to. The right to choose is one of the reasons I want to defend this nation
@Pope Temporal, this is what I consider the right mindset. The whole nfl kneeling controversy is basically this thread minus the conspiracy bullshjt. 1st amendment protects the right to express yourself unless it causes an imminent danger to others like yelling fire in a crowded theater. Kneeling or sitting during the pledge/anthem doesn't hurt anyone, just voices an opinion.
@I Are Lebo, Thank god someone came along to throw out a sensible position here. I didn’t really want to take the time. I can happily stop scrolling, now.
@benderama, they shouldn't let you comment either but here we are
@I Are Lebo, Oh, but I feel like it’s worth mentioning that kofmen96 basically said “most nazis were just doing their job”, pretty much minimizing nazi culpability, and that shît got more upvotes than down...
@Berntley, who put politics in my funny pics?
@GuyWhoSaysNice, and who the f*** thinks that arguing with people online will accomplish anything?
@GuyWhoSaysNice, Who put funny pics in my politics?! Oh wait, it was Anthony Weiner.
@Macaroni Jesus , I'm not on his side here, but standing during the pledge isn't mandatory, but it is "required" in showing respect in those that have died before us defending our rights and country, and those who currently are. Again, I'm not on his side, this is just some info from my encyclopedia
@Berntley, no. Are you fücking serious?!
The excuse “I was only following orders” carries ZERO weight with me. None whatsoever.
@I Are Lebo, head back up and read it for yourself. I feel like my summary is accurate.
@benderama, For anyone that actually reads through all these comments I have to say that I agree with most of your main points. The reasoning behind I must agree with others and say that they are pretty ridiculous at best, but your core beliefs are completely justifiable and anyone arguing against you is just as bad as what they think you are. This much controversy over a meaningless flag (and it is meaningless since I can go burn one or wipe my ass with one and not feel a thing since a flag doesn't represent anything. People assign meaning to it based on personal belief) and other perfectly acceptable critiques of the United States is sad. Everyone needs to take feelings and representation out of arguments like this. You can't make people feel things they don't feel.
@Berntley, then those people are despicable human beings seeking validation and justification for treating other people in horrific ways.
@Mrod27, you made a very good point, and I’d like to call further attention to it.
A flag does not have intrinsic value. The only value or worth a particular design embroidered onto a piece of cloth can have are the values we humans ascribe to it. And because one of the values ascribed to the American flag is the freedom of self expression, to be ostracized for refusing to stand for the American pledge is actually more antithetical to American values than the act of refusing to stand.
It’s the exact same thing when people get outraged by football players kneeling for the anthem. Their protest is more in keeping with the values that the USA at least claims to stand for, than the people attacking them for being “unpatriotic”.
@Captain Anderson, I just searched for that and I got no results.
You’re sure it’s #fassbenderdrama?
@I Are Lebo, refid 249989
@Captain Anderson, thanks, reading through that essay was surprisingly enjoyable.
@Captain Anderson, I don’t suppose you remember the ID of the one with the argument about fireworks? The picture was about a guy who was arrested for setting off fireworks at 4am and had a picture from South Park of Randy Marsh getting arrested.
@I Are Lebo, no, sorry
@Captain Anderson, all good. I was just curious.
Anyone one else look at the hair closely?
@SharkDark, can’t unsee it.
Good, show dominance and put her in her place
@DoctorDudeman, I don't think you're allowed to pee on other students
