Don’t give them any ammo
Please everyone just be peaceable.
Let me put it this way. In a two in one fight, the two people pretty much always win assuming they aren’t inept. There’s a reason you never saw Mike Tyson take on two opponents. Could he? Well two of me sure but we’re getting off topic. The point is that in most melee scenarios, even a small number advantage means victory. I feel confident the police know this. Currently they are trying to keep businesses and people safe while being outnumbered 20 to 1 (at least). This is scary. They are scared. They are brave and amazing and scared of being literally trampled to death. Scared people are known to lash out. Please, if you are protesting, do not give them any reason to lash out. My sympathies for people “starting something” is effectively non-existent. I’d love it if we could have fewer unarmed people die. If your protests bring that about then great. But don’t make the situation worse. That officer across from you is not the 1 you have a problem with
@Canis Arktos, the people trying to peacefully protest are not the ones inciting a riot or attacking officers. There are way too many people out there willing to take advantage of a situation for their own agendas. I'm the last person to buy into conspiracies and the like, but there's been proven people who are not tied to the protests in any way have attempted to sabotage them by throwing/handing out bricks, throwing fireworks and such at the police lines. It's sickening that people would do such things to sabotage a peaceful protest. I do also agree that police are on edge because if the things others in uniform have done, and most of them aren't bad people, I've had a couple very influential men in my life growing up that were part of law enforcement, so I know that most are great people.
@FullMetalAlcoholist, I agree with literally every word you just said.
@FullMetalAlcoholist, if some cops bad = all cops bad, if some protesters bad = all protesters bad
@meNoP, I literally said the opposite of that
@FullMetalAlcoholist, RE: meNoP: It’s come to my attention that people have a tendency to read to lines of a long post and assume they know the rest of your argument. I’ve been so heartened to have gotten into a few discussions with people here and despite initial disagreements, I’ve found that their stance may differ from mine, but it’s more developed and nuisanced than the broad brushes the media (both sides) have been trying to paint us with. The people I talk to have been way better than the people I see screaming into the void (even when they are sometimes the same people). Keep being awesome.
As a civilian I have no idea what NOD means
@FullMetalAlcoholist, night vision
@WelI Obviously, I'm not sure about what NOD means, but night vision is NOG, not NOD
@40 to Pun, depends I suppose where you are, but NOD or NVG was the term for "night vision" for us
@WelI Obviously, i had always heard NVGs. But ive not heard either NOGs or NODs
@40 to Pun, Night Optical Device. They stopped calling them goggles since they started making the monocular ones, which are a lot lighter and don’t pull your helmet down
@meNoP, ah, ok thanks! Guess I'm a bit old fashioned
Nocturnal ocular device? Just spitballin
