Gotta love those click bait articles. Did anylne seriously think this would happen?
I'm pretty sure they mean knocking it out of the current top spot at theaters. Endgame has been the top movie for 3 weeks now. Detective pikachu will probably sell more tickets than Endgame now.
Detective Pikachu? No.
Godzilla? Might not dethrone it but it will most likely get close.
@MrGrey89, Godzilla looks great and I’m really looking forward to it but I can’t see it even breaking the top 5, the franchise doesn’t have the same hype as something like Star Wars/Avengers/Avatar.
@MrGrey89, maybe opening weekend for godzilla it will out sell how avengers endgame will be doing at the box office at that time, but it wont come close to how well avengers did in its opening weekend
@Emperor Pengu , this is referencing for the weekend. Movies opening weekend is almost universally their biggest and endgame will have been out for a month
@Emperor Pengu , why is Avatar so hyped? I had no big interest to watch it when it first came out and I only finally did after a trip to the Avatar section of the Animal Kingdom in Disney World
@18bluecat, purely the gimmicks. James Cameron, 3D, and best/most CGI at the time. Plus it was in theaters forever and you couldn’t really find a showing that wasn’t 3D so ticket sales were inflated.
@MrGrey89, I’m a big Godzilla fan. Even seen the old Japanese movies. Despite that I’m a little worried they are making king of monsters a little too busy. Idk how they are gonna resolve so many monsters rampaging at the same time while also having compelling human characters.
@BearDaniels, Personally, I say death to the human's and focus on epic kaiju battles. But noooo, every kaiju has to befriend some random ass child these days.
@BearDaniels, Same here my friend. I even have all the movies and figures. The reason king of the monsters has all this action is probably because a lot of fans were mad that Godzilla didn't have a lot of screen time in 2014 so this probably making up for that.
@Emperor Pengu , which is a complete shame coming from someone who loves the Godzilla franchise. I mean I’ve met people who have never seen a Godzilla film tell me there shouldn’t be any more Godzilla films because its about a man in a rubber suit destroying a cardboard city. Not true at all. Some films focus on parenthood, environmentalism, nuclear allegories, etc. the list goes on. The 7 year old version of myself would rather see a Godzilla film than Pokémon/Avengers/Avatar/whatever else. I can’t say that KotM will make $1B in the Box Office but I would love for the giant monster/kaiju genre to become the next wave like Superhero films in the last decade and a half.
The thing is, it already has
Pretty sure I've seen that deleted scene on pornhub
