I check halloween candy for drugs cus fvck yeah, drugs.
They're the gateway drug to adventure and retreating from reality
@Doctor Bees, gateway to getting hit by truck-san
Don’t you mean math and reverse math?
@theprofprofessor, good ol' Travis
See everlasting gob-stoppers from Willie Wonka
Has anyone ever actually given out drugs to kids on Halloween?
And also, where are they so I can avoid?
@12345654321, none it’s based on the story about a guy who put cyanide in his kid’s pixie stick to collect life insurance money. Nobody is passing out drugs in candy do you know how expensive that stuff is, I mean I don’t but I assume it ain’t cheap.
Can't relate. My experience with most DnD nerds has been negative.
@Myredhulk, on behalf of the community that isn't horrible, I'm sorry for your experiences.
@Myredhulk, I've got an OG father in law that only plays human fighters and attacks any halforcs on sight as he considers them to monstrous so they are instantly evil. He also had a stroke and is a little screwy now so we just go along with it.
@Dillusionist, Thanks. I'd still like to maybe get into it someday, but every group I find is just horrible.
@Myredhulk, only advice I can really give is find people who might be interested that you're already well acquainted with (friends, family, close coworkers/classmates) and learn the rules together and get into it that way. You know everyone at the table already, so the group shouldn't be a problem then. If the rules seem intimidating, you don't have to start with D&D, there are plenty of other TTRPG systems out there with simpler rule sets, there's also a whole genre of games know as "RPGs in a Box" that run the settings for you and are a great introductory way into the hobby.
