@EmergencyMan, as an Australian who still has
vote majesty the Queen as head of state. I must also answer to call of duty and downvote.
@AussiePatrick, God save the Queen
@EmergencyMan, as a Scot I feel obligated to upvote.
@Randycupcake, my ancestry is Scottish, Irish, and Welsh. I’m with you. Upvote and fûck the Brits
@big freedom, You know that the Scotts and Welsh are British too, right?
(I’m aware that some of the Irish are too, but I’m staying out of that whole mess).
@Nellybert , they are because of colonialism. so were Americans... once.
None of those people identify as British.
@big freedom, You’re saying that no one from Scotland or Wales identifies as British?
@Nellybert , yes, of course I deal in absolutes. It’s always everyone, or nobody. 🙄
I’ve been to Wales and Ireland, and my brother lived in Scotland. They’re Scottish, Irish and Welsh. Not English or British. Of course people from England live there too, and they identify as British.
@big freedom, You said “none of these people” - which is why I was asking if you meant absolutely none of them.
I’d agree that Scots, Irish and Welsh aren’t English - same as the English aren’t Scottish, Irish or Welsh. But as for them not being British:
1) Legally, they are British - it’s on their passports. That’s why they return MPs the Parliament (in addition to having the Welsh Assembly and the Scottish Parliament).
2) Scotland had a vote, they voted to remain British (unless you’re saying that more than half the adult population of Scotland is English?) So yeah, plenty of them identify as Scottish and British, same as I’m English and British.
@Nellybert , oof.
@big freedom, I’m sure that some don’t identify as British at all, some do but consider it secondary to their country, and some consider it a primary part of their national identity. My point was simply that saying that ‘none of them’ consider themselves British is not accurate.
Hey England.... GET FVCKED!!! 🇺🇸
@megamanx181x, as a welsh, fvck the English! (I don't actually hate the English, but like many Americans when asked where Wales is they either don't know or say "isn't that part of England? Alot more often than not, when they don't actually know, most of them think the UK is just England.)
@Samurai Bear, except you; you’re cool. Here have a freedom sandwich 🍔
@Jipz, alright we got a welsh among is funny pics! I feel you we don’t know a lot of things of the geography of Europe, thanks for your patience.
