Alright I’ll ask, is this thing real, hypnotizing it’s a real thing?
@Alpha Warrior, yes, definitely. I was hypnotised by a guy who proved I was under by sticking a pin through the back of my hand.
This was meant to show that it was a real thing that could change consciousness, and would supposedly encourage me to repeatedly go there to have a condition cured, as I would now trust them that it was real.
The exact opposite happened, as I would never trust them again...
@Alpha Warrior, there's a little truth to suggestive conditioning, but most of what you see is very exaggerated.
In this clip alone, after the guy says "sleep" and he begins tapping his nape, you can see him blinking while he's "sleeping". Right after, the guy looks up right *before* the guy says to sit up and open his eyes.
At worst, he's in on it and it was all staged. At best, he's going along with it because he can just pretend it was all real, which is better entertainment.
@Alpha Warrior, it is .. to an extent. but let’s be clear, you can’t be hypnotized without giving the hypnotist authority over you. When they say “follow the watch with your eyes” and you DO. You’ve already begun.
I’ve heard it said that if you let your self get hypnotized more than once (particularly by the same person) then it is easier and easier for them to put you under. Potentially to the point of having done when you don’t want it.
At this point you are in a suggestible state and, just like for those people considering using mind altering drugs during therapy, it can be a WONDERFUL aid to treatment or it can be abused and do long lasting damage even to you personality and memories. Make sure you trust them first.
@NeroSaber, His 'Zeehaw' typical Martian food also changed to a 'heehaw'
I would love to see Penn and Teller jump out and scream, "Bullshjt!"
