Rich peverley had a heart attack on the bench this past Monday while playing the Columbus blue jackets, players jumped from the bench to draw attention to him, trainers took him to the locker room where they had to revive him with shock, the remainder of the game was postponed due to the horror the players witnessed, when peverley was revived he asked his coach the time remaining in the 1st period, he is now recovering in the hospital appearing to be in stable condition

Honestly, next to rugby players, hockey players are some of the toughest athletes. I've seen a player take a puck to the face and keep playing. A goalie take a skate to the throat and still have a career. Just recently in the last playoffs, a player got his leg broken while blocking a shot and continue with the play.

Lebron james would have retired from basketball if his heart stopped if that is his reaction to a freaking leg cramp. Go on youtube and search for "campbell bruins broken leg" and watch the most inspiring 1 minute of hockey ever. Dude broke his fricken leg and continued to try to block shots because it was the playoffs....

@Happy gilmore, and yet this happened near the end of the season on a team where Lebron is basically the team. Don't get me wrong, hockey players are tough, but don't try to downsize the fact that a leg cramp can be easily mistaken as a pulled or strained muscle, and even a muscle or ligament tear, luckily it was a cramp, but the pressure this guy has on him to be good means that he has to be at 100% at all times, so yes I wouldn't blame him for milking his injuries some if he feels like it may affect his game. But this is still nothing compared to hockey players.

Well in hockey, you're wearing protective equipment and have different training practices for different things. In Basketball, a leg cramp can mean a pulled muscle or a weak leg, and you could end up breaking it from a simple jump. That's why they're usually more cautious about it in basketball. Also, there's a difference between passing out and dying.
I don't think anyone ever accused Lebron James of being tough.
