Well considering the modern population of black people in England isn’t super high and they’ve had 132 years to multiply odds are there just weren’t a ton of black people in London there’s such a thing as historical accuracy not everything is racist
@eleven, No kidding, currently the population of London is about 10% black. I couldn't find any statistics for 1888 right off the bat but I didn't look very long either.
@KermitSmash, sad to say, you could find luck in checking cargo ships from the east Indian trading company. It was a lot of ships with historic value. So you may get rough numbers off that.
@eleven, you're right by 1888 most black people who had been in London by the time had actually left. the population increased mostly after ww2
@eleven, um, geez, haven’t you figured it out yet? If history is accurate and there are no black people around then reality is racist.
@eleven, woah woah woah, are you telling me that black people had not migrated to Europe in the 1700s and 1800s and were therefore not common at all there at the time? What are you some kind of racist?
@eleven, yeah took me ten seconds to research and find out that London had a sizeable black population in the 17-1800s. Shame that doesn't fit the woke narrative you all made up in your heads.
@Hot Coffee, well. There is a reason why we have to get rid of statues know. And antifa planning on destroying mt Rushmore.
@hollow114, please don’t use that word I will not be associated with the term woke I couldn’t find anything with my search but then again I could just suck at google what I did find the current population I just went backwards as since the UK unlike my loosely United States didn’t need to fight a war over slavery and since most people don’t actually leave their home continent if they don’t have to I don’t see why there would be a sizable black population at that time however I did read that most black people actually left after they even freed a large part of the black community of Britain largely English black people were freed slaves who fought alongside the English in the American Revolutionary War
@KermitSmash, I’d guess that before the Windrush there weren’t many black people in England.
@That one lurker, The slave cargoes weren’t brought to England - carried goods to Africa to trade for slaves, slaves to America for sale, cotton etc back to England. Big triangle really. But almost no slaves in the UK - some people here owned slaves, but those slaves were usually in plantations in America.
Most of our black population arrived as the ‘Windrush generation’ after WWII, rather than being descended from slaves.
@eleven, I think I got the gist of what you said but you might want to edit/proof you post
@hollow114, "sizable" is a very misleading choice of words. The black population in London was in decline after the abolition of slavery in the 1830's. By the 1880's the black population was below 2℅. So that means there wers around 60,000 blacks. That is "sizable" but put into context of the 2,940,000 non-blacks, it very plausible to go to London and never see any blacks. Especially, if you dont venture into the right neighborhood.
@TexTom69, okay I'll give you that. But if we're going by jack the ripper. If I remember this episode right. They were in the right neighborhood.
@hollow114, that may be. I've never watched this particular show,so I have no idea if they were in particular.
Always jumping to a racist insinuation
They were not.
“Black People” was invented by Democrats in 1954 as a continuing part of the American Communist “revolution.”
'Ugh, why do they always portray Mulan as asian? WHY CANT WE HAVE A LGBT BLACK MUSLIM TRANS WOMAN AS SHE WAS MEANT TO BE SEEN'
Which episode of Psych is this?
@The Pocket Taco, Psych: The Musical. Gus is acting like this because he wants to play as Jamaican Inspector Man.
@TheStarHawk, JAMAICAN INSPECTOR MAHN! Straight from Kingston to London Town. Ripper! Leave them prostitutes aloooooone!
No, they just weren’t shoved onto ships yet. Calm your hateful racist a$$ down
Ignorance isn't funny. This post is ignorant
@G1ngerB0y, In the context of the show he was literally just using this to convince the playwrights to put him into the play for a case they were on.
They Wuz Kangs and Sheeeit.
