@SimonPetrikov, basically the only thing blocking the blue rope from getting loose was his two arms. He essentially took the blue rope and wrapped it around the outside of his arm. You will never find yourself in this situation unless you're being abducted by a boy scout

If you watch the white rope the whole time, you'll see it was already out when he put the blue rope around his hand.
