@troubled panda, to put it simply, if at any point the bud, oil, extract or anything containing acidic cannabinoids are heated you no longer have an acid form. In no way is something you purchase off the shelf or street going to protect you from Covid. However, hemp often contains high levels of acid forms of CBG and CBD. These are legal if coming from hemp. Check the certificate of analysis. You could technically purchase hemp with high acid content and extract with ethanol at home, but again any heat will convert it to the neutral form which is not "pretective" against Covid.

@Kino, not quite. Pretty much all edibles, tinctures, or consumables have been processed using heat through either distillation or the production process. So even if you are eating it, it likely does not contain the acid forms. If you are purchasing any cannabis products from a dispensary ask for a certificate of analysis. These are required and they cover the cannabinoid content as well as screen for harmful contaminants like metals, pesticides, solvents, and microbes. If the Certificate says it contains the common compounds CBG CBD and THC check for the acid forms CBGA, CBDA, and THCA. If they are present all you have to do is extract them without heating and you are good to go. Most of them time they will be less than 5 % (w/w) if included in final consumable products. Hope this isn't too much info.

@Blackfrost273 oven heat is too much. So baking them into something is out. It really depends on how the extracted oil for the gummies was made. If it was mass produced, it was likely extracted or distilled with the addition of heat. As for digestion, the acid forms are not psychoactive only the neutrals are. Additionally, the acid in your stomach is not the same as the acid that was originally present. When acidic cannabinoids are heated they undergo a process called decarboxylation. That is the removal of the carboxylic acid group. This happens quickly at high heat and slowly at low heat. If you digest the acid form of THC it won't really have an impact as it is not a psychedelic. That is why dispensary rarely sell anything containing high acidic forms. They are not really active if you are in it for the high.

@Assetone, yeah people usually call it rso (for Rick Simpson's oil) but that's kind of a brand name and FECO (full extract cannabis oil? Is what it actually is. You get all the goodies like thc, cbd, terps, etc. If you don't decarb the smoke first then it'll be full of thca. Flower is mostly thca but like you said, there's no high until it reaches over a certain temp. The thca in flower might break down to thc if it's been sitting around for awhile or not stored properly.

@Sexy Homunculus, ok so, my wife kids and I all have covid right now, we're doing fine. My dad lives with us and he smokes weed, lots of weed. He has not socially distanced himself and has not gotten covid. Ge is vax'd and boosted. I can't leave that part out. Or as he puts it, waxd, vax'd, ready to relax.
So, the acidic forms of cannabinoids are extremely low in concentration in most end products, like gummies or vape pens. Smoking weed converts the acid forms to their neutrals. Heating cannabis reduces the compounds studied in this paper so please do not think that smoking weed increases your immunity.
