I'm a patriot but I just find some restrictions we have in this country to be absurd
Public drinking isn't illegal, public intoxication is. We have a system of ratings for tv shows, if a show uses the f word, it is rated higher. The homeowners association isn't affiliated with the government in any way
@gmastern1996, public drinking is illegal in some states. Technically I think it's having an open container of alcohol that is illegal. I know because of reasons. Side note, don't pee in public.
@on the crapper, Key word here: Some states.
You can get away with peeing in public if you know how to do it right. (i.e. No one can see you.)
@on the crapper, hmm, I didn't know that. Well it's not illegal in Texas, at least
@on the crapper, Here in Georgia, open containers are illegal and that makes me a sad panda
@FredMercury, not having a gun
@gmastern1996, is anything illegal in texas?
@FredMercury, it is illegal for pigs to have sex on an airport runway in Texas.
I rechecked my response and it seems that my aforementioned response only pertains to the city of Kingsville, Texas. And it is airport property in general.
@TheKnightsWhoSayNi, In Alabama it's illegal for animals to have sex within 100ft of a church, business, or education building. (I think)
@FredMercury, defacing an american flag
But thats kinda the very point. We have a system that is able to balance and protect individual liberties and freedoms at the same time. USA USA USA
I found the patriot
@C BOT, they're all over this app, you can tell because anything that makes fun of USA is full of comments like this one
@The Antagonist, and god forbid you joke about the American military the same way they joke about other's (namely french) military
@NAMF, I'm really glad you brought up that point. Most people don't realize that we have to find a balance between the rights of the individuals and the rights of others. Its a very difficult task, so its complicated and can't please everyone. Anyway. Thanks for bringing that up. Have a lovely day(:
@C BOT, ANOTHER PATRIOT RIGHT HERE *tears open shirt to reveal One Direction tattoo* Oh shjt, that's supposed to be a flag...
@Kangaroo Jacked, but those French military jokes practically write themselves!!! I mean they practically walked right into the one about their new 6 speed tank which has 1 gear in forward and 5 in reverse!
@normally weird, except most of them dot actually protect rights, they just take them away when others that get offended can just not watch the raunchy show, etc. There is a difference between someone drinking in public or saying a "naughty word" and someone speeding in a car while under the influence or making a public threat against someone's life, so enforce it like there is a difference. The worst part about it many of the restrictions are hypocritical and/or ignore more serious issues: if video games don't teach people to go on murder sprees, then they don't teach people to go rape women in back-alleys, but we still see things like side boobs ruining a games (maturity) rating while something like cartoon violence barely pushing a E10 rating. If this were the land of the free, we wouldn't have a government to be nationalistic about.
@The Megaton Bomb, This cartoon is making fun of those with nationalistic based on freedom because of that fallacy, and people that realize what freedom is in comparison to what the American government is know that it's a dumb connection to make too. (America very much so is hypocritical about its freedom, although most of its rudimentary ideas are fine but it's never implemented a fair system that doesn't infringe on rights without valid reason and probably never will because most people couldn't even be considered as trying to find an answer and just care about their own interests.)
Freedom doesn't mean you can do what ever you want. It means your civil liberties are guaranteed
Yes, I agree. "Bae" should be banned everywhere.
Freedom and indecency are not synonymous
@Whitehammer, really? Well I have the FREEDOM to be indecent *strips naked and runs down street*
@Captain Kirk Hinrich, *gets arrested for public indecency*
True "Freedom" would be disgusting, you need rules to keep society in check or else shut will go crazy. And yes, crazier than it already is.
Gnome or tripod?
@Tenac, don't gnome if they saw the third leg
Out of 200 or whatever nations... maybe 15 dont have freedom...
@Converthis, not possible. America invented freedom. *bald eagle is heard in the distance*
@Converthis, I couldn't be a dirty walnut if it wasn't for 'Murica. So, 'Murica is life, 'Murica is love. *Rides his bald eagle into sunset while shooting in the air*
@Converthis, I think you should visit Africa. Or the Middle East. Or parts of Europe. Or North Korea. Or China. Or just google "countries with dictators" and try to find a list under 30 items long.
@Sparks 1911, i could... its really not that hard... a bad government doesnt mean no freedom... almost all african countries the people can do as they please. Same with thr middle east and europe... freedom isnt a unique thing... well unless you define freedom as the percent of people incarcerated, then the usa is the least free country in the world
I'm deeply annoyed someone has such lack of perception that they made a whole comic depicting their shallow viewpoint. ..a for effort though
Whoever made this doesn't want freedom, he/she wants anarchy.
Isn't cursing on TV dependent on what the networks allows not the government? Or is that wrong?
@Hamburgler , the FCC is a government agency
@Malorn13, yeah I know that but I thought they just rated it
@Hamburgler , they are the ones that require live TV to be censored. Television networks usually follow their rules for censorship. The MPAA is the one who makes the ratings. A talk show is shown live so it is "unrated" and FCC decide what can and cannot be said. It's why all "live" TV in America legally has to have a 25 sec delay to account for censoring
HA! Like Americans would ever say please....
@TheDoctorsTARDIS, Pardon me sir/madam, but we here in the South are raised to always be mindful of our manners by saying please, thank you, yes sir, no sir, yes ma'am, and no ma'am.
Anyone else just hate every country?
Why is the US saying please???
@ItWasIn, must be a Southerner because we are raised to be polite and kind to others in the South by saying please and thank you.
Most shows use the F word. You just might get a TV MA rating, which no one cares about.
These n*ggas making a joke into some serious sh*t. Its just a satirical and humorous comic. Chill
BTW that's kanye west on some late night show run by Jews-
@arcadefire, the Daily show with Jon Stewart is my favorite late night show of all time. His departure makes me sad.
