This is really relatable
@megamanx181x, my moms sister was a teacher, her son and I were basically same age, and if we went off to make friends. She'd call us in and spend it there during lunch time. So social skills were never present.
@TurtleBlink, way to stunt social growth by being a helicopter parent.
@TurtleBlink, your moms sister and her son......so your aunt and cousin?
10+ years of being told I was "too high energy" or "a distraction" tends to make you tone the personality down a few notches.
@Whole Inn Juan, I was the one praised for being quiet and alone while being told essentially the normal kids are little annoying buttholes. The other kids then just hated me because the adults liked me
@Whole Inn Juan, exactly the same with me and now its impossible to tone it back up with confidence
Pretty sure when I was little, being weird was cute. Weird isn't cute when you are a grown man.
