I don't get what's wrong with the Railroad. They don't do any bad things, and they give you cool guns and useful armor.
@Marida Cruz, I stole this meme to give to the people, but most people hate the railroad because I think they don’t believe in the idea of synths being people
@Marida Cruz, practically the railroad is a weaker faction. They also are, in my opinion, one of the least likable thanks to their writing
@Canadian Reaper, that's kind of stupid considering that most people's favorite companion is Nick Valentine, who is easily the synthiest of the synth companions.
@TheWhiteWolf, that doesn't explain why siding with them is bad. In my opinion, both their stance and their writing is better than the Brotherhood's, who from a lore standpoint seem to only even be there because it's a Fallout game and that apparently makes their presence mandatory.
@Canadian Reaper, I think synths are people and I still hate the Railroad, because synths are a liability. They are a danger lurking beneath the surface at all times. Imagine if ghouls could go feral any moment, but could still use guns and armour. Nobody would allow them within a mile of themselves
@Marida Cruz, I sided with them and at the end... it wasn't rewarding. Synths really aren't people and they have you kill real people. In the end, the railroad is a terrorist group
@Marida Cruz, I dislike them because they put synth life above a humans. They're spies or whatever and that's cool but they dont care what happens to the people of the commonwealth, which both the minutemen and in a weird way the brotherhood do. The institute says it cares but they dont really. And Ad Victoriam
@Marida Cruz, in the end the ncr proves to be the best faction ;)
@Thatbright, that's why you do the ending where you get the Railroad and minutemen to join forces. Best ending in the game, in my opinion. Not that any of the endings are particularly good.
@18bluecat, so does the Brotherhood and institute, and they aren't even working for the benefit of anyone other than themselves. The Brotherhood don't care about the commonwealth, they care about technology. And the institute are just downright evil. Like it or not, the ending with both railroad and minutemen is the best ending for the game, because it's the only one where the people of the commonwealth end up being protected by commonwealth citizens, and not by another power that doesn't actually care about them. And to say synths arent people just because they were manufactured is to say that clones arent people either, especially since the newest synths are basically just clones with some mechanical components. Their brains are actual brains, just with institute programming. Sleeper agents in real life are people who've been programmed, so that's nothing. So why aren't they people, in your opinion? Because the only arguments I've heard are all awful, and don't make any sense.
@Marida Cruz, I really don't care enough to get in a huge debate. But synths are generally created without consent of the original. Also, they're mechanical. I hate the institute but the BoS is capable of reuniting American under one government. I generally support them or the NCR
@18bluecat, if you actually payed attention, you'd realize that the BoS don't care about forming a government, they just care about preventing anyone who isn't them from having dangerous technology. And as for synths, as I already stated, the newest synths are not mechanical, but are a mix of biological and mechanical components, being mostly biological. What does the consent of the original have to do with anything? Are you saying that if someone secretly made a clone of someone else, they wouldn't count as a person because the original didn't consent to them existing? Because that doesn't make any sense.
@Marida Cruz, this was written by some BOS pleb fan boy, considering killing Danse is on here. Honestly, fvck the BOS in FO4 and fvck Danse in particular.
@Siska the Khajiit, why is it that whenever people talk about synths being dangerous, they never elaborate and use vague descriptors like "they're a liability" or "they're a threat to humanity" without anything to qualify those bold proclamations? Also, ghouls don't randomly go feral, they need to be exposed to large amounts of radiation, like humans, for their brains to deteriorate.
@Proactive Citizenry , about the ghouls, that’s why I said “imagine if.” Honestly I would neither go out of my way to kill synths, but neither would I go out of my way to help them. If I discovered a synth in my settlement as the Minutemen, I would give them a care package and kick them out. If there were a large amount, I would create a separate settlement for them
@Proactive Citizenry , it feels like the same argument people in the Fallout universe use to describe both Synths and Ghouls. It also happens to be how people before the civil rights movements described minorities. And the 50s, which Fallout is based on, were pre-civil rights. I think maybe people who are anti-synth are missing something about what comparisons the game is trying to make, but what do I know?
@Canadian Reaper, too bad they're on the other side of the country and can't do anything about what's going on. And really, it's not like they don't have their own governmental problems. But at least they have a government.
@Marida Cruz, the ncr only have a problem with corruption, but they’ve demonstrated a lack of hatred to ghouls so I like to believe they wouldn’t hate synths immediately and think of them as the terminator like the bos do.
@Canadian Reaper, the NCR can easily fix their internal problems by either, A: taking over the western continent and stopping to fix itself or B: electing a new leader and fixing itself. Another thing to add is, if the NCR fixes itself and realizes mutants aren’t fully a threat it would be interesting right reaper?
@Proactive Citizenry , BOS were never really good guys so fvck them in fallout 1 and 2 they send the main character on suicide missions while at fallout 3 they’re only good because of their leader
@Marida Cruz, the equivalent in real life to the railroad are the people who say that there are more than 2 genders
I’ve been told the shape of each level of hell closely resembles the shape of the earth
@RMB, oh, cuz it's flat, right?
*sweats in legion*
@Uncut Bandito, I always join the legion
@Uncut Bandito, AVE TRUE TO KAISER!
Only go to the railroad so you can effectively use 10mm rounds
Hahaha seriously though, you mess with the kings, I turn you into a hunka hunka burnin flesh
all these things call me kevin has done
Where's the one where you join Brotherhood just to kill Maxson for his coat? And then everyone else on the airship.
The earth is cone shaped
I like the Mojave music radio, especially if I’m out in the middle of nowhere. I wanna feel more cowboy.
