McGregor did incredibly well considering that he landed far more punches than Pacao, but Mayweather also didn't take his training seriously because he wanted a good fight. McGregor isn't an endurance fighter, a lot of his wins come from knocking people temporarily unconscious, and it's just not as easy to transfer the same punching power with boxing gloves even if you are incredibly accurate. He still did much better in his earlier rounds, but he got tuckered out and couldn't keep up with a seasoned Boxer who is renowned for his defense.
@aGuyWithAnAxe, He also tends to tuck away and turn his back, like a coward.
@Ze Grammar Nazi, it's called boxing don't be a hater. he is a defensive fighter, make them miss, then make them pay
@Scottles, more like run away and literally show them your ąss because they can't punch you in the back of the head and you're too much of a little girl to box right
@RustyFapwagon, he's got enough wins that makes me thinks he boxes right
@RustyFapwagon, he is definitely an ads and he is not fun to watch at all but it is one of the four accepted styles of boxing.
@aGuyWithAnAxe, boxing gloves actually dont reduce punching power very much. I believe the differemce is about 10 psi which accounts for very little of the total power which is in the hundreds. MMA gloves reduce it about 2 psi reduction. The overall difference is about 1-3% less power. In this boxing match mcgregor landed just over 100 punches and mayweather was around 170. The gloves made a 2-3 punch difference which wouldn't have come close to changing the outcome.
@Majesticmoose00, yeah I think it was mainly the fact that McGregor is a very offensive fighter and couldn't last nearly as long as MayWeather. McGregor has had wins within the first 30 seconds before, and if he could've taken MayWeather down early he would've won, but as the fight went longer and longer he got weaker and weaker
@aGuyWithAnAxe, oh yeah. He had to end it within his standard 4 rounds to stand a chance.
I had hope for him. I wanted the world of sports to shake.
@Majesticmoose00, same here
Let’s see Mayweather do MMA against McGregor and see how it goes
@FP Waiter, even kickboxing would've been a different story in my opinion
@FP Waiter, he wouldn't even take Ronda rousey on that offer.
@FP Waiter, Floyd didn't call out McGregor in his sport.
@FP Waiter, of course he would, its a different style, mcgregor is the one who thought he could box
@FP Waiter, the difference is that Mayweather knows he wouldn't be a good mma fighter. McGregor was the one who challenged Mayweather at his own sport
@Goldeneye, And Mcgregor walked out with a loss that no one cares about and 140 million dollars. Lol. If you don't think this entire fight was a publicity/money play than I heartily disagree with you
@FP Waiter, that's just it...Mayweather doesn't claim he can beat McGregor "within 4 rounds" in mama. McGregor is too cocky in my opinion
@Gonoopnoop, McGregor is a showman. He gets that the only reason he's there is to entertain the people that pay to see the fight. He does exactly what he needs to do to make the money.
@FP Waiter, Floyd didn't learn multiple martial art, he learned the art of boxing, that's pointless.
"You've got a school backpack. You can't even read.”
Yet there he is, shïtting gold foiled food while driving his 6th car to his other house
@Dexios S Divine, yes he's rich. He's also an incredibly horrible àsshole. Wealth=/=
@big freedom, never said that, but yeah
@big freedom, I've actually heard he's a nice guy outside the ring. And he has said he wants to help young boxers invest their money so they don't just blow it
@Patamon, a "nice guy" that's been convicted not once, but twice, of beating women... but yeah he's great.
@big freedom, I did not realize that. I never was really into boxing or the people related to it. I just heard that people say he's nice
@Patamon, don't listen to people... they say stupid shît.
I think he sucked. Regardless of the number of punches compubox says he landed, remember Floyd was fighting differently this fight. If he fought McGregor like he fought Pacman Conor would have landed a third of what he did. Conor was the one going for Floyd's back and side hugging him and throwing hammer fists on the back of his head on purpose. Watch his mma fights. He fights like that regularly. His punches lacked all power even when they were clean and flush on target. He stank. He only slowed Floyd by being awkward and having good defensive head spead and counterpunching that made Floyd cautious about throwing combinations until Conor was clearly gassed and could barely keep his hands up. He didn't get worked the way most boxers do against Floyd mainly because he isn't a boxer and Floyd knows how to work boxers not fighters
Fvck McGregor and all his fanboy pansies
Personally, boxing seems like an outdated combat sport. MMA is just a lot more quick and intense
I don't get it
Wait, so can he actually not read?
@SqurtieMan, seriously, he can't.
let that sink in when thinking again how much he makes and how nice he isn't. i get he has talent and this time he did knock someone out but i hate the thought of someone winning by defending. basically taking advantage of an inadequate judging system.
@SqurtieMan, from what I've heard he can read, not well, but he can read although I can't prove either way. I've also heard he's actually a nice guy, again cannot confirm
@onlyspongebobquotes, lack of literacy doesnt make a person a failure if they make up for it in other ways. Being intelligent enough to play to your own strengths is the major life skill. I think of some of my college classmates work work in retail, telemarketing, and sales. Smart enough to go through school but not able to succeed at life due to ither shortcomings.
Not saying being illiterate is okay for most people, but you shouldnt call a guy who has the drive to train for his profession and who makes millions through entertainment stupid.
@Majesticmoose00, he is definitely a better athlete than myself and he has definitely worked harder for it than i am willing too. however literacy is a life skill. he can pay someone to read him his documents but he has to fully trust that his life manager(s) will not steal from him because HE HAS LITERALLY NO IDEA what he may be signing. if he was blind, it might be a different story, but oh wait, they read too. i know there are people with high level educations in low income jobs and even unfortunate people who cant read and have low income jobs but they are most likely not rich like mayweather. he can afford the education...he can afford any education. he should take advantage of that at least for his image, if not for the joy of reading itself.
@onlyspongebobquotes, illiteracy is actually good for his image as a tough musclehead who beats people for a living. Even if he coukd read, it woukd be better for his image not to disclose that.
@onlyspongebobquotes, he is not a child rolemodel, he is the personification of a stong fighting animal
@Majesticmoose00, emphasis on animal. all aside im sure people only paid gor the hope of seeing him lose (not everyone, but many)
@onlyspongebobquotes, i wanted mcgregor to win
@SqurtieMan, there is no proof he is illiterate
