I mean... I get the point but pretty much every conversation with someone I meet up with starts with, how are you?
@bonja, i was thinkin the same thing
@bonja, but they don't really care do they?
@sexyvampireprincess, it depends on who you're talking to. Someone you just met or an acquaintance, maybe not. A really good friend or a close family member, yes they typically do
@sexyvampireprincess, I actually do, most of the time. There have seven some people I’ve learned to just say “good to see you” or something like that. This one girl in college, I ask how she’s doing, and I’m locked into a twenty minute, depressing as shît conversation about her poor health and contentious Family.
@bonja, and you say good. How are you? And I say good. And the lies build from there.
@bonja, that's weird...everyone I meet asks me to 'cover up' and 'stop doing the helicopter.' Whatever happened to small talk, am I right?
@bonja, I think he was referring to how me measure how we are doing like yeah I’m great I just got married!
If “being happy” were the purpose of life, drinking rum on a beach would be the pinnacle of human achievement. But there wouldn’t be any rum, cu everybody would be too busy being happy to make it.
@EatMyAss, I mean I don’t much like rum, and quickly tire of the beach. I don’t think that’s happiness, because after about 9 days of vacation, I’m ready for a change. I think happiness is found outside of the scope of what you have or are doing.
@ZedStar, 2 kinds of people
@EatMyAss, you know what? I think easy satisfaction is a trait that, in evolutionary terms, is not advantageous at all for our ancestors. I think hungrier, unhappy (up to a certain limit) humans outcompeted humans who did not strive for more cause they were easily satisfied
They don't ask about your career, marriage or house because they wanna know. They ask because they wanna tell you about their bullshjt
@robee, was this intended as humor? Like. I get that we’re all for self depreciating humor here, but this just seems... Like some bland prod at a great guy who tragically was lost.
@robee, too soon
@El Batman, you know, i realized as soon as i hit send on that one.
@Arbitrage L, i think im bad at lightening the mood.
*slowly backs out of room*
@Arbitrage L, all I see is a comma?
@Eggsample, ...Well that’s weird. I def said more, lol.
@Arbitrage L, no, like, all I can see that he wrote was ","
Hahaha nothing else shows up
@Eggsample, oh!! He edited it! That’s entertaining. It originally said *kills self*, so.
@Arbitrage L, everything suddenly makes actual sense now hahahah
Happiness is a fart in the wind. What you want is contentment. That is a fart at home alone
If your not into my scifi fandoms then i won't hold a conversation with you long enough to get that deep
