And Seattle Public Schools, who just ruled them white to (and this is paraphrased, not a direct quote) "remove their advantage over blacks"
@Ajunta Pall, you got a source so I can read up on this myself?
@ThePandaPool , I actually just deleted it.
@Ajunta Pall, funny how its black power this and black power that....until they realize that they basically gave them the freedom to assault anyone they want with no discretion or punishment because “im black, if you punish me youre racist!”....its all fine if theyre killing whites, but now its asians...how long until jews are targeted?
@MMSieBreeze, Eh, cops will just shoot them and not get charged.
@ThePandaPool , nyc is also doing this with our tech high schools.
@jmacs94, To quote ThePandaPool “you got a source so I can read up on this myself?”
@jmacs94, I don’t see where the schools rule Asian Americans as white.
If you’re talking about Dhingra, it says she researches that exact problem.
It also says that one’s zip code determines one’s future which I agree with completely. Which is why we should be trying to change that. (Glad we agree on that).
@MrTuxPenguin, oh I don't know about that I just know NYC wants to make admission about skin color not merit.
@jmacs94, You said that NYC is doing that exact thing when responding to Ajunta. Didn’t you?
But also NYC not doing that. It’s trying to create more incentives and opportunities for poorer neighborhoods to get accepted into schools (remember the zip code thing).
It also says “myth 1: opposition to the specialized-school reform is part of an Asian American crusade to crack down on race-conscious admissions”.
Looks like they aren’t doing anything based on race.
@MMSieBreeze, you mean again.
@MMSieBreeze, as a black man, I feel much less free now. Old white democrats that used to use the KKK are actually controlling the black power, and my homies are too blind to see it happening!
Ha they just settled the lawsuit against some of the Ivy League schools for this exact thing and the justice department said they weren’t discriminating. Which is bs by its definition
@Richard Cypher, we're not discriminating we're just picking and choosing based on skin colour!
@Richard Cypher, They couldnt proove it or something. Wasnt enough evidence to bring it to court apparently from what i remember.
@CocoasBro, Isn’t that what happened to Trump and the voter fraud thing?
@MrTuxPenguin, kind of.
But then who will fill the engineering and medical classes??
@megamanx181x, racial quotas will fill them with unqualified individuals not selected for their academic merit, but also using their God-given skin color as a metric....because melanin production in the epidermis matters for some reason.
@biolojist, then it goes back to the racist times of only trusting white/Asian male doctors cause you know they had to be the top of the top
@biolojist, it absolutely matters, everyone know that our intelligence is directly linked to how well our skin absorbs sunlight. Which is why I’m so ghostly white.... wait
@Natural Sarcasm , can confirm. Goths r geneuses.
@Nekozombie, maaan you white supremacist! I couldn’t help but notice you never gave the wahmen any credit.... so sexist, and patriarchal and I definitely didn’t need to look up how to spell half this shjt
@Natural Sarcasm , How daaaaare you assume my gender. Im a tri gender pyro fox from the forest planet and am super duper cereal oppressed
@Nekozombie, oh shjt! I’m so sorry I had no idea, my “nice guy” mentality begs for your forgiveness but only if inappropriate sexual favors are exchanged in order for me to treat you with common decency
@Natural Sarcasm , Ill just give you enough attention to keep you hanging around. Heres a feet pic
@Nekozombie, oh I can’t help but see you have an only fans, how empowering. I’ll certainly be paying the 5k a month subscription despite there being no nudity because I know your private messages to me are unique and special to me
@Nekozombie, the "here's a feet pic" sent me lol
@Sriracha, she’s a character, always fun to do stupid ridiculous satire with lol
@biolojist, Well if they pass all their tests and succeed in the class why shouldn’t they Become a doctor?
@MrTuxPenguin, the point being made was skin color doesnt matter, academic merit does. If I were in charge, I wouldnt ask about race.... I dont care, it doesnt matter. The woke supremacists really care about race, and it really makes me wonder who the real racists are....those who dont care about how much melanin your skin produces, or those that insist on categorizing everyone and fulfilling quotas based on melanin produced.
@biolojist, They just got a scholarship because traditionally people of color don’t have the money to go to college. Nothing wrong with giving out a little help.
@MrTuxPenguin, the point of the meme isn't about scholarships, it's about colleges making standards for entrance much higher for Asian Americans for the last several years, thus denying entrance to many qualified students on the basis of race, with the apparent justification that Asians are less victimized than other minorities because they are successful on a society-wide scale. A lot of people think that's racist, but no one on the left has been concerned about it, because it's not about fairness, it's about equity - making outcomes more equal on a society-wide scale, even if it hurts individuals. Literally no one disagrees with giving people who need it a little help.
@Natural Sarcasm , aw no u
@NotSpam, oh ok. How are schools making making it harder for Asian Americans? Could you give me some examples or articles to read? Just so I’m more informed?
@NotSpam, So it looks like Harvard does accept a lot of Asian Americans and their percent has been going up. Always has been higher than black students. Two different courts even said Harvard wasn’t doing anything bad. The left probably isn’t talking about it because it’s not a real issue. I sure no one wants same outcomes for everyone.
@MrTuxPenguin, If its not a real issue then why are you talking about the percentage of black students?
The judges said lots of things, but definitely not that Harvard "wasn't doing anything bad" lol - this isn't a binary. “the Court therefore concludes that the data demonstrates a statistically significant and negative relationship between Asian American identity and the personal rating assigned by Harvard admissions officers, holding constant any reasonable set of observable characteristics.” if they didn't do anything bad then Asians must just have worse personalities than other races!
The problem with pretending like nothing is wrong here (something is obviously wrong here) is it keeps the country distracted from the real issue: why are students arriving at college with such disproportionate levels - among different racial breakdowns - of preparation? What would actually address that root issue?
@NotSpam, NO! No logic or reasoned approach from principled beliefs. Only emotions. Feelz must be good or you are white supremacist! Do you really want to be a sexist?
@Nekozombie, how’re we not already there? About 14 years ago, I made it into dental school as a white male. I had to not only be above average, I had to be better than above average. I got in with a 3.8 GPA and a 23 DAT score. If I had more melanin and fewer testicles, I could have gotten accepted with a below 3.5 GPA and maybe a 17-18 on the DAT. And you’d see those affirmative action kids struggle more on average, like the recently cancelled Georgetown Law professor, David Batson, recently pointed out. Nothing has changed. My wife will refuse to be seen by female or higher melanin count providers because of this.
@Who Nose, my medical school was sued a few years back because they lowered the entrance requirements for admission, but not for advancement, for socially oppressed and, surprisingly these socially oppressed people failed out of medical school via the STEP 1 exam.
I believe the lawsuit was dismissed as meritless.
@NotSpam, Well the courts didn’t think they were doing anything wrong enough to convict Harvard of anything.
This is also that in Cambridge, MA, only 16.1% of the population identify as Asian or Pacific Islander.
So over all I think Harvard is doing an ok job. Almost twice the cities’s average.
To be honest, I’m surprised Harvard is as diverse as it is considering it doesn’t have to abide by any diversity policies.
@MrTuxPenguin, very cool that MrTuxPenguin thinks Harvard is doing an OK job! Nothing to see here.
Of course that statistic would be impressive if Harvard students came exclusively from Cambridge, which they do not. This is also about more than one school, obviously.
Since this was not a criminal trial no one could be convicted of anything. You've ignored the quote from the judge that directly contradicts your assertion that Harvard did nothing wrong. You've also ignored my other points, so I'm going to assume you have no real response and move on with my day. Peace
@biolojist, only to the left does race matter.
@CocoasBro, Conservatives are the ones who brought this up. I’m just expressing a different view point.
@MrTuxPenguin, what you can proove and court and what is right and wrong are two very different things my man.
Question assuming that colleges are raising the bar higher for asains and lowering it for blacks and hispanics would you consider that racist or wrong?
@NotSpam, Hey let’s not get cynical here. I’m just expressing a different opinion. I couldn’t find that quote you’re talking about. Which website was it?
So looks like 1% of Harvard students are transfer students.
And it would make sense that if you go to school there you would have to live there right?
So with the transfer rate so low, the ratio of Asian Americans enrolled compared to the rest of the city, I don’t think that Asian Americans are being discriminated against in this certain example.
You did say that there are other schools doing this though. Which others?
But I can see this means a lot to you (as it should. We should have equality among all races). So can I assume that you’re a BLM activist? I hear they aren’t being treated fairly.
@CocoasBro, that’s 100% racist. The worst kind too as it’s disguised as a helping hand but not only does that set up the black students to fail by giving them a spot they didn’t earn but it also implies black people are too dumb to ever achieve this without a handout. Then to top it off it diminishes the accomplishments of the black students who actually earned their spot
@NotSpam, So in the article you sent me, it says that Asian Americans have to score 450 points higher than black Americans, but is that nation wide?
Also it says that the Asian American population more than doubled since 1993. If Harvard keeps its personal diversity ratio Asian Americans are competing against themselves. Not other races.
@CocoasBro, Except that Harvard isn’t lowering or raising the bar for their entrance.
If you bring up the fact that Asian Americans show higher than other races then my previous comment asks weather or not the SAT scores nation wide or selective.
@MrTuxPenguin, why did you dodge the question?
@CocoasBro, It just didn’t post the rest of my comment.
Yea if Harvard was setting different goals for different races that would be racist. But they aren’t.
If you bring up that Asian Americans test higher on the SAT’s then I would say that the majority of poor schools (which has a direct correlation of quality of education) has a predominantly black makeup. Which would make sense that Asian Americans test higher and make up a higher portion of Harvard(which they do).
I think I best way to see if Harvard really is racist is to get the average SAT scores of students accepted into Harvard and then the average of students’ SAT scores broken down by race and see if there’s any differences.
@MrTuxPenguin, They did. And they found out that in some colleges Blacks and hispanics were getting in with much lower SATs. I believe the others said as much. Aswell as the colleges basically stating they do as much themselves. This is intersectionality 101 im not sure why its so hard for you to believe that colleges which are consumed by extreme far left idealogies would implement extreme far left idealogies into practice.
@CocoasBro, The articles I read didn’t say that. Where did you hear/read that from?
@MrTuxPenguin, Pretty much they give points based on social class/ personality/ charity/ etc. But the big one to focus on is class. They give big advantages in the points for people from less privledged upbringing. Which is wrong.
@CocoasBro, Why is it wrong? It’s just giving less privileged people a chance. It’s like a scholarship.
@MrTuxPenguin, its giving people an unfair advantage over others. Especially when you consider that theyre doing specifically so that more people of a particular race get in.
@CocoasBro, It’s not people in a particular race. It’s people with a particular income. Plus the kids need to get a certain score or GPA to even qualify. The scholarship just helps them out with the money part.
If still like to see what articles you can send me where they’re implementing this.
@MrTuxPenguin, a college should only be concerned with gpa and intelligence first and foremost. The rest is a tie breaker.
And yes it most certainly is about race. Intersectionality has taken control over every major university. Everything is about race to those people.
@CocoasBro, Plus the kids need to score a certain score or GPA to even qualify. It just helps with the money part.
How do you know that Harvard is judging based off of race and not merit?
@MrTuxPenguin, and black and hispanics need far far far less on their SAT score to get in. Because of that.
I know because every college is staffed to the brim with sjws.
@CocoasBro, You have any proof of either of those claims?
The initial article I read said that Asians score higher on SAT scores but that was nation wide. We need to look at SAT scores of students already enrolled based on race.
If you have that information I’d like to look at it. That would convince me.
Not sure if intentional or not, but most violent crimes against Asian people are committed by black people. Picture made me chuckle, though I think it's an accident.
@werp zerp snickel, the only one that hasn’t been is the Atlanta shootings, yet the Asian community blames white supremacy for all the rest of the attacks
@werp zerp snickel, That’s interesting. We’re did you get that statistic from?
Why Asian American? It's all Asians in America
I went to one of those specialized highscools. I needed to take a test to get in. Nyc set up practice tests in black neighborhoods with tutors to help kids get in I attended every practice session in that neighborhood. I was the only white kid everyone else was asian.
I'm out of the loop, what asian discrimination have colleges been notorious for?
@Winter Diablo, saying all Asians are smart
@Your Darkest Secret, I don't see that from my experience at all. People have to remember there are straight up like 5 times the amount of people in China compared to the US. So for every Chinese international student, there are 4 students that probably couldn't make the cut. And that's just China.
@Winter Diablo, understood. I’ve heard international students get picked over stateside students and the only real difference was they were from another country so it would look better if the school took someone from farther away. We concluded it was better for the school because they would get more money from the out of state student living on campus than someone driving from their house to school
@Your Darkest Secret, Out of state tuition fees are also higher, so the school would be getting even more money
