The world thinks Iran is a joke and won’t let them play with nuclear material yet they really thought they could do anything significant to the leading military superpower.
The most they could do would be the equivalent of a child pulling the chair out from their older brother that has anger issues.
@x2 6x 9 lol, no, they could do a lot more. We should feel lucky they were mature enough not to escalate. I served in the Army, have had friends die, and have a son in the 82nd Airborne now. If you're never been in harm's way, don't dismiss the significant dangers faced by our Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Marines
@occasionalmutant, I am also a veteran.
ISC USN. I didn’t say anything about soldiers/sailors/marines not being in danger. Being on the other side of conflict and seeing a bigger picture I can assure you my analogy is correct.
@occasionalmutant, I don't think he was dismissing the nature of our men and women who put themselves in harms way, I think he was just trying to make the point that the United States could wipe Iran off the face of the earth without even trying, should it escalate to full fledged war. Nuclear weapons are literally outdated with the technology we have now. There's no reason to drop a bomb that destroys hundreds of miles for thousands of years when the technology exists to just put a laser guided bunker buster within inches of the target
@x2 6x 9 lol, and yet they got all their money back. Their owed money from the US. They get to enjoy sanction free living from everyone but the US. And they get Iraq kicking our military out. MASTER NEGOTIATOR.
@occasionalmutant, my dude they are outmanmed, outgunned and surrounded on all sides. They couldnt do sh!t stop cvcking for iran they arnt a threat.
@hollow114, you say that like leaving isnt beneficial to the united states.
@BlazingBowman, I'm not. I'm glad we're leaving. Just from a conservative POV this is an absolute loss. Trying to spin it any other way is laughable. And Iran has a standing military of 4.5mil, and I think the last 18 years of war in the middle east proves the US isn't good at stomping all over anything.
@hollow114, im sorry how can you spin it as anything else than donald trump absolutly slapping iran with his massive dick and them floundering to maintain even a shred of dignity.
@BlazingBowman, I'm not dumb. That's why. We killed a guy our government is struggling to give a good reason for. And we embarrass ourselves yet again on the world stage.
@hollow114, struggling? The dude was on the terrorist kill list for litterally decades, he organized an attack on an embassy and he was in iraqi soil when he bit the big one well within slapping of trumps d!ck. In what universe are we struggling to come up with an excuse?
@BlazingBowman, pretty sure you're trolling. But. We killed one guy and lost our entire foothold in Iraq. As well as allowing Iran to now get a nuclear weapon. 10/10 best negotiator.
@hollow114, when did iran get a nuclear weapon and when did we loose our foothold in iraq? What happend was we blew up a top asset and general of theirs, they retaliated with a strike that only dammaged a few planes with no cassualties on purpose, accidentally hitting a civilian plane in the process pissing off both canada and ukrain i think and trump slapped sanctions on them. We havent been kicked out of iraq and when did they get a nuclear weapon? Who are you going to for news?
@hollow114, also can i point out how hypocritcal youre being right now? If we are leaving iraq thats a good thing so why are you trying to make it sound like a bad thing just because orange man bad. Like wtf get your priorities straight brother.
@BlazingBowman, okay. That's a lot. But like I said from a coservative POV it's an absolute loss. Your second hand victim complex for Trump is just about the worst feature of trumpers. As for weapons? That's the thing they weren't doing in exchange for no sanctions.
@hollow114, this is an absolute win no matter how i look at this dude. Youre reality is warped. Stop watching cnn and reading buzzfeed. Its melting your brain night lol.
@BlazingBowman, the point is that Trump did it to try to start a war to distract from his impeachment. Am I angry Soleimani is dead? No. I’m honestly not angry for that. I’m angry at the blatant disregard for potential repercussions, a sitting standard for Trump.
I’m angry that he’s so damn willing to commit war crimes in such a blatant fashion that even the Pentagon is saying ‘we aren’t gonna do that.’ Basically invoking the right of any military personnel to disobey illegal commands, that they had to even say it.
I’m angry at how he tears or tries to tear anything up that Obama did, just in a deep seated hatred. Was all that Obama did good? No, but that’s small numbers compared to what was honestly good things.
I’m angry at his blatant disregard for rule of law, driven by his rampant narcissism preventing him from ever understanding he fvcked up and there are consequences.
And I’m angry at the GOP, so far up Trump’s @ss they can see teeth, enabling him on everything.
@Cloverleaf, in gonna tell you straight up right now the worst thing he couldve done is to try to distract from his impeachment. Especially with another war in the middle east. His impeachment is not his blunder its the democrates. Ya need to stop watching buzz feed videos dude.
@BlazingBowman, and yet we’re dealing with a man who doesn’t listen to his advisors, is easily caught on topics he just heard, and has never been told no in his life. And I stopped listening to buzz feed long, long ago.
@Cloverleaf, were dealing with a man who listens to his advisors to much. You can see them whispering in his ear on twitter when he 180s on a position. Fvckers are probably the reason we havent left the middle east yet.
@BlazingBowman, there has been multiple documentations he’s not listening to intelligence briefings. He was looking for a war. It didn’t escalate to that, but the idiot is basically shafting the US at every turn, getting old allies to begin to turn their backs.
@Cloverleaf, are you honestly trying to claim a source that knows what the preisidents thinking? Because otherwise thats just an uncharitable interpretation of his actions.
@BlazingBowman, isn’t that exactly what you’re doing?
@Cloverleaf, im guessing im not claiming to read the fvckers mind.
@BlazingBowman, that still sounds like an uncharitable interpretation. Also double standard.
@Cloverleaf, me guessing at the presidents actions and you outright stating you have evidence that the president is actively looking for war with iran is two different things in entirety. Look for all i know trumps actrually the most successful idiot on the planet accidentally succeeding at everything on accident like a comedy show or he knows what hes doing. Its one of the two.
@BlazingBowman, name an actual success of his. A real accomplishment that started and ended already in his presidency.
@Cloverleaf, the economy, routing the democrates, south and north korea getting along relatively peacefully people are crossing the border to see family they havent in decades, having a approval rating at near 50% when he litterally has 90% negative news coverage. Shall i go on?
@Cloverleaf, and currently hes teabagging iran.
@BlazingBowman, economy has remained relatively stable in its growth since 2011 after the 2008-09 recession, with being lower in 2017-2019 than it was in 2014-2016. The 2018 congressional elections literally prove this ‘rout’ wrong. N Korea has in the last few months cut all talks with with S Korea. Trump is forcing family separation at detainment camps along the border, not providing anything for the individuals there, current approval rating is about 43% based on an averaging of all available polls. While disapproval is at 52%. And Trump did order that strike on Soliemani. Who was labeled a terrorist, but he was also a general in the Iranian government, who, while is hostile, we aren’t at war at with.
@Cloverleaf, i mean i could go individually and argue every point but i noticed you said something super interesting about the "seperating families" thing id like to talk to you about your choice.
@BlazingBowman, already gonna guess you’re gonna say ‘Obama did it too’. Well I will not dispute the detainment camps existed then either. But the separations during then? Weren’t indefinite. So before you go on a tirade about hypocrisy, I get in general it’s bad. And should not happen at all. But Trump’s policies make it far worse.
@Cloverleaf, i was gonna ask you what policy youd rather see in its place. Because the way i see it trumps picked the best option available to him.
@BlazingBowman, how exactly is this the best option? Honestly what we need is more sweeping reform to our border and immigration policies. We are a nation founded mainly on immigration. Cutting off that option by making it harder and harder to is gonna do nothing but harm the country in general.
@Cloverleaf, i mean its not the best option the best option is a border wall manned by u.s military so its pointless to even try crossing. So you know their arnt parents dragging their 3 year olds accross a desert with no food or water. But hes been blocked and stopped by the 19th circuit on that for awhile now... but thats neither here nor there. What would you do with the thousands of "families" crossing the border. You dont know who these people are, you dont even know if these kids are their kids. What do you do. Take the mom and dad and leave the kid in the desert? Do you take the kid and put him in the same holding cell as the adults. Or do you just throw open the border entirely?
@BlazingBowman, I’m of the firm belief that when you turn the illegal option into the most difficult to gain from, and make the legal channels easier, then illegal crossing will drop severely. But a huge border spanning wall is not only going to disrupt the wilderness, land owners on the border, river systems, and take far too much man power to facilitate, it’s also the only friggin policy he’s spewing. And that wall design has already proven susceptible to climbing and cutting. Beyond that, it does absolutely nothing against the most common ways of illegal border crossing. Overstayed visas.
What would work better is creating incentive to cross at the border checkpoints, and incorporate a new process to citizenship. Especially in asylum cases.
@Cloverleaf, so basically open the border. You want it so theres basically no qualifications to get accross. But that doesnt answer the question what are you gonna do when deporting a family that needs to be deported. And you can have gaps in the border wall dude designed to funnel people in.
@BlazingBowman, you’re twisting words. I did not state open borders. I stated incentive to cross legally.
And still ignoring how useless said walk would be. How much in personnel and equipment do you think it’d take to watch the entire border? Why do you think people cross illegally? If you focus on the core reason for the problem, finding a proper balanced solution is far easier. A wall is not a proper balanced solution. It says you’re not allowed, period.
@Cloverleaf, doesnt matter how much personal it would take. Its not like we need a man every square inch. But answer the question. Youre deporting a family they have a three year old you dont know if that three year old is there kid, theyre going to a detaining cell with murderers, cartel members, rapists, and pedophiles what do you do with the three year old.
@BlazingBowman, and you forget my original point I made when we were discussing that. Also very nice of you to assume every detainee is one of those things. My problem is that the children in those detainment facilities, are basically there for ages with cramped conditions, no access to any hygienic products, and basically forcing the older children to care for the younger. That system is inhumane and should be revamped. Unless you have a clear sign that a criminal activity has happened by one of parents, the most you do is verify. So yes, a short term separation while the child is questioned carefully regarding the adults they cane with. If nothing seems off, bring them together again, get the immigration process going for them.
@Cloverleaf, theyre their for like a few hours before theyre sent to foster care until their parents are sorted out. My problem is youve given trump this lose lose scenario in your head and critisize him for it even though its a decision you would make yourself. Do you understand how fvcking crazy that is.
@BlazingBowman, have you seen those detainment facilities at all down there? They’re not there ‘a few hours’.
@Cloverleaf, yes they are dude and yes i have. Theyre very nice. They got nice little cots and toys and food. And its not meant to be a permanent home. Theyre gone before 24 hours is up into the foster system.
@BlazingBowman, so explain why they aren’t given access to any kind of basic necessities like clothes or new diapers and held for weeks on end. Explain how it’s healthy to separate a young child from their parents for weeks on end, even with a foster system in place. The issue is the inhumane treatment. Yet you’re so damn focused on the process you can’t see the harm it causes.
@Cloverleaf, they arnt supposed to be there more than 24 hours and im pretty sure youve been listening to propaganda. Do you really believe they leave toddlers in sh!t stained diapers with no care, or food or water for weeks. And they somehow survive this? Its simply not true.
@Cloverleaf, but my main thrust is your hypocrisy. Youre so willing to jump down trumps throat that youll be willing to believe anything. 2 month year olds arnt going for weeks without food or water or diapers dude.
@Cloverleaf, and if it really was all true it still wouldnt be trumps fault. Who made the migrants think they could come here without following the system? Wasnt trump. Who cut the funding to ice? Wasnt trump. Which side has activist groups actively funneling money to migrant caravan and buying trucks for them to come here? Wasnt right wing activist groups. And whos draging their kids thousands of miles accross a desert with no plan? It isnt trump.
@BlazingBowman, and you’re just constantly trying to say I’m wrong cause I don’t agree with you. You’re trying to call me a hypocrite here, when my answer focuses on separating families as little as possible. The current system is cruel. That’s what I feel. It needs change. But the second any change is discussed, Trump spews more bs that all immigrants at the border are rapists and drug dealers.
There is no perfect system. But we can do a hell of a lot better than we are.
@Cloverleaf, im not sure we can besides closing the border. Or just giving more money to ice. But my point im trying to point out is your irrationality when it comes to trump so let me try again with a new angle. So just answer this question.
Why do you think they seperate families at the border?
What did you learn?
U.S. military laughs externally.
Checking in after what feels like 8 years without using this app. How has the funnypics lore developed since then? Is Jamal still at the store?
@oldgears, holy shît man! Welcome back.
Jamal and the old guard are mostly gone. I shît u not still posts from time to time. The rest have moved on.
Now we have a few trolls, benderama, unkle77, and liberachi like to sound as stupid as possible as often as possible.
@oldgears, The app’s community has swung mostly conservative, and has become a lot more political in nature than in the past. There are hyper conservative and hyper liberal trolls constantly trying to rile up the community.
There was MACWE and Invalid Chicken which I will regard as some of my favorite years. Recently A Pet Named Steve took over but has since left because she was getting harassed. If you’re looking for the community that once was, you will probably be disappointed. Still better than ifunny, and quite a good number of nice and funny people here, Besides that, though, it’s kinda went downhill. The memes are still good, so I lurk.
Thats just my opinion though. It’s good to have you back, and I hope life is treating you well!
@oldgears, it's mostly gone to shet with borderline turning point USA shet posted daily. But they still don't allow cursing.
I mean... didn’t Iran get the last hit in with the plane explosion? Don’t get me wrong, I get that this is an American app with an American fan base, about an American war but.....? I don’t think this meme works right now.
@Fuggles, yeah but it was a Ukrainian plane with Ukraine, Canadian and Iranian passengers so I dont think that counts as a win.
@mycatsanahole, I just mean that this meme makes it sound like Iran got out of line, the American military made a move, and then Iran “learned its place” and stopped acting out. But they just blew up a plane, so it doesn’t sound like Iran is done yet.
@Fuggles, they stopped acting out toward America. We let them save face by attacking one of our bases after we took all of the soldiers out so no one got hurt. The plane thing is only tangentially related to the conflict between America and Iran.
@mycatsanahole, it's like a kick in their own dick
@mycatsanahole, also, they shot it down accidentally, kinda like the guy that gets his head blown off in Pulp Fiction.
