Literally every compliment. Especially by family members and friends. Criticism however, no matter if it's a lie or not, always feels like the truth.
@A pet named Steve, most people usually dont lie
@A pet named Steve, hey there champ, this is a top quality comment and you should be proud of yourself! After all, theres only one pet named Steve here for us!
@sploot, kind of hard to believe these days imho
@A pet named Steve, first step is identifying the problem. Next step is taking action(s) to fix it. If anyone figures out how to do the 2nd step, let me know. Apparently you can't move on to the next level until you do.
@A pet named Steve, epic life hack: avoid this feeling by disconnecting yourself from all relationships
@K1l, solid advice
@A pet named Steve,
My wife and I have this little game we play were if we deny a compliment, we get on each others butt about it and shower that person with more complimenta until they eventually accept it
I know the comments are kinda taking a jab at this, but it’s probably one of the biggest issues I had while depressed. I would get genuinely angry with people because I thought they were lying to me. Seriously, if you’re in a situation like this seek some help because it’s so much better when compliments actually feel good.
I'm kida sick of all these I'm lonely, I'm depressed, I suck memes. Its your fault. You werent born that way, not everyone feels that way. Its just your lazy ass. You choose to do nothing to fix it, and so, you choose to sit behind the fan. Rant over.
@Sr5turbo, it has nothing to do with laziness. The lethargy is a symptom of the sickness. Depression is a real illness, a chemical misbalance, and it's nobody's fault if someone gets it. And even choosing to fix it - well, you can't 'choose', you can only try, and even then it might not work out. Sorry for ranting. In conclusion: depression is a bitch.
@A pet named Steve, buy thats the thing. You can try. My GF was actually diagnosed bipolar/manic depressive and I work with her for years on building self confidence and not just loading up on lithium. Now she will tell you she is not bipolar or depressed. Its mostly about outlook. And I hate people who accept being miserable.
@Sr5turbo, it's different for everyone. In some (luckily rare) cases, depression is chronic, and nothing can be done about it. Some people react well to medicine, some well to speech therapy, or a mix. What I have learned is that it's difficult to compare each person's personal illness, because they are all kind of different. Not saying you shouldn't try, but sometimes even that won't work. Chances are better with help from the outside, though. It's good that you help you girlfriend ^^
I can’t bother with people like this
@megamanx181x, it's really not their fault though
@A pet named Steve, I know cause I use to be like that and it’s hard to have patience for it now. I totally get why some people strained being around me, you just gotta figure yourself out and accept yourself
