just gouge your eyes out bro
There's an interesting video online about the influence of sight in male sexuality. Essentially it's programmed into dudes that anything female shaped is quite stimulating, something the female perspective cannot understand. It's actually debilitating at times.
The title is 'Men and the power of the visual' on YouTube. 5 mins long. Just an interesting vid if your butt still isn't numb on the toilet from FP viewing.
@OfficialNyarlathotep, isn't this common knowledge? Men are visually stimulated and for women it's a bit more complicated (like every other damn female thing) lol. It's why porn addiction is higher in men than women but both partake equally. Studies have shown porn actually enhanced female libido but causes problems for men. (can't remember source for that one)
@OfficialNyarlathotep, it’s a pragerU video so very doubtful to be properly researched
@KowaIski, noted, I only agreed because many of the things said I've seen demonstrated in my own life first hand.
@OfficialNyarlathotep, that’s why many Christian women choose to dress more modestly (not at anIslamic level, but avoiding super skimpy stuff). It’s a conscious recognition of the way men are wired and subsequent choice to try to lessen our contribution the battle of lustful thoughts. In short, I choose to dress more modestly than other college girls because it is more edifying and in an effort to help any men in my life by reducing my contribution to the visual element that can lead them to lust.
@The Eye of the Hawk, the Discovery channel did an interesting series on sexuality several years ago. One of the episodes was about how Testosterone affects the male sex drive. They had a woman who was going through a sex change procedure and she was on testosterone therapy. She said that almost at once, the way she was aroused changed to being sight driven; and that it was very surprising how strongly it affected her (this was before the operation). I thought it was interesting that something so fundamental changed by the addition of the hormone.
@griffinstorme, thank you. I wasn’t sure how to describe the gender.
@Kayda, it is common knowledge.
@OfficialNyarlathotep, if you cant control your impulses you are just trash. People blaming girls for wearing certain clothes is like blaming a parked car when you crash into it. You have full control at both times.
I'll take scripture taken out of context for 200 please
@tmo0792, that doesn't matter as long as it fits the narrative at hand apparently.
@tmo0792, I mean, it is technically what he was talking about. But it was more metaphorical than literal, as in if something is causing you to falter in your well doing, then reform it or get rid of it. It was more or less also directed at the church in it's entirety, as it is often referred to as "the body of Christ", so cut out the "body parts" that are doing more harm than good for the Church.
The more you know. 🌈
@tmo0792, not taken out of context at all. The original KJV states ‘if thine eye offends thee...’ meaning ‘if seeing something causes you to sin...’.
Contextually, this is a very accurate way of describing that passage - well, the whole chapter, really. As TheStarHawk says, it’s not meant to be literal but metaphorical - ie change your behaviour.
@Rythorn, but contextually go over to Roman's 14:13 but rather decide never to put a stumbling block or hindrance in the way of a brother.
So for example, if your brother has an issue with being drunk, dont order a drink when you go to a restaurant, as that may temp him to fall into sin. Or if they have a gambling problem, dont play poker with them just for fun without real money, etc.
This is the biblical duality or responsibility. Sins are always 100% the fault of the one who sins, they have no excuse to blame someone else for their actions... however at the same time, it's also your responsibility to be your brothers keeper and help them make by making sinning harder to do.
@tmo0792, I presume in this instance the women were prostitutes as well considering most women dressed very modest back then.
@Rythorn, no I'm stating that this picture takes the scripture out of context. Also the original KJV isnt even around anymore, also the original isnt the KJV its written in Greek. I'm just stating that it is indeed a metaphor. Jesus would never tell you to actually gouge your eye out.
@tmo0792, Did Jesus downvote you?
@Rythorn, I say and believe that if someone sees something and it causes them to sin. They’re the one that is weak in faith. If it requires that they remove things or cover up things that would cause them to question or do things that are sinful. Then they are weak in faith to begin with.
@tmo0792, actually it is metaphorical but has the same meaning still. It is basically saying dont blame others for your faults and correct yourself instead of expecting others to change to your needs.
"It hurts when I do this."
"Don't do that."
@Sambob, why don’t you just ask me to just die while I’m at it???
If I go waving my wallet around in a bad neighborhood, and then I get robbed, it’s still the robber’s fault. That being said, waving my wallet around and making myself a target is still fücking rétarded.
Imma miss my peener
High schools could learn alot from jesus too bad religion has no place in school anymore
@k1ngs4ndm4n, let's not forget the schools that still have "Jesus" at heart are telling kids dinosaur bones were planted by Satan to make us doubt God, the earth is only like 6000 years old, and etc.
@arverni, high schools only deal in extremes there is no middle ground
@k1ngs4ndm4n, Yeah that and the other religions that kids can learn from. Coming to think it, this is how paganism beliefs are merged into Christian ones. Due to our multiple racial and religious groups it’ll probably birth a new holiday.
There was a story awhile back about a teacher that asked his class “who doesn’t love allah?” A boy raised his hand and the class was in shock. He thought the teacher asked who loves allah. He cut his hand off because it sinned. Stupid fückin religion. All of em.
Christian Republicans will disown mathew after actually reading a part of the bible.
