Leto seems to try to be weird a little too hard...
I would say it's impressive and admirable that Leto stayed in character for that long, but then I realized the thing I hate about his portrayal of the Joker is that exact character.
@TheStarHawk, Also, drug Lords on Instagram? What the fvck? Also, what do Gospel and shamans have to do with the character?
@TheStarHawk, Same. Like I love the commitment, but sheesh was that Joker was bad. Joaquin Phoenix did such an incredible job in the recent film, you can actually hear the pain underneath his laughter y’know?
@TheStarHawk, I like to think of Jared Leto’s Joker as how Harley Quinn viewed him. Most of the time in suicide squad the joker is shown through flashbacks told from Harley Quinn‘s perspective.
@Seohn, that's a pretty good take. He seemed like the bad boy who had power and a soft spot for Harley. Definitely not what I believe the joker is, but what she does.
@wannabe firefighter, it’s been a while since I’ve seen the movie but if I remember correctly the only scene where you’re not seeing the Joker from Harley Quinns flashback perspective is when he’s wearing a full tuxedo and he helps the group and Harley Quinn. That’s what gave me the idea that perhaps it’s how she sees him in all the other scenes. And is not necessarily how the Joker normally is.
@A Flying Panda, when one says that stuff. Like hearing his pain. Maybe its just us hearing that . so we relate to the character better.
I'd rather use the condom and anal beads on Margot robbie
Planet Fitness advertising has always been obscure, but this one I really don’t get.
@Berntley, gaddam lunk alarm
I always pretend jared letos joker never happened
@megamanx181x, I mean, fvcks sake, from these notes it looks like Jared was prepping to be another character entirely. Drug lords on Instagram, gospel, and shamans have nothing to do with the character.
@TheRatMan, he tried to copy Heath ledgers way of preparing and made it garbage. Also sending used condoms and a dead rat does not mean great acting is coming
Just found out about pheonix and his siblings' awful childhood... and I cant imagine what it was like to play that role
I finally managed to see Joker and I gotta get this off my chest
I think Arthur fleck isn't Thomas Wayne's son, I dont think Arthur Fleck exists at all. I believe the movie is told through a troubled Bruce Waynes broken mind. At the end after all the flashback and showing Joker in the psych ward again it has that one image of bruce Wayne standing over his dead parents. This drove him insane and now he is in Arkham inventing a story to tell himself while incorporating some aspects of real life into it, some kind of split persona. I dont know I'm no psych major and maybe a few old fashioneds into the night.
That is all.
