I hang with a lot of odinist / asatru / heathen types and the vast majority don't give a f*ck about gay couples or mixed race relationships. So while I'm not defending whoever that it's, I just want to point out that they're not representative of the whole group. That is all.
@slug111, the people that told them off were a pagan religious group so it kind of proves your point in the picture.
@slug111, sorry but I must ask what is an odinist
@eleven, the short of it is someone who worships or honors Odin, although they'll often acknowledge the other gods and goddesses too. There is a pretty broad spectrum of belief, though. Most view the deity as either symbolic or allegorical, while others view Odin as an image that allows us to have some sort of understanding of a broader divine power. There are some who believe in him literally, but from my experience that's less common
Those people might be neo nazis, a lot of those people are odinists
@Sick Boy, as one I can confirm
@Sick Boy, so is an odinist someone who believes in Odin and the other Norse gods? Cause that’s what it sounds like to me.
@Toxia, short answer is yes, but the contemporary understanding of what that means is tremendously flawed. Watch thulean perspective to learn more.
Why would the person that sent the message take the screenshot?
@member berry, as evidence when crying about it on the web
Sarah: “then you shall burn under your forsaken Gods wrath. Sic em, Odin!!!”
Fire rains on Ireland, which is quickly recolonized as New Scotland
Im in two minds about this... I don't agree with what she said in the least, but at least she was polite. I don't like judging people based on their beliefs, even if it's something like that...
@theshadosnipe, True but if she feels this strongly about people who associate with those groups it makes me worry how'd she'd actually treat those people
@Snip216, fair point indeed
I’ll Drink a Guinness to that!
paganism, a spirituality of which the extreme majority of all adherents during its dominance in Europe believed in the execution of gay people.
*is pro homosexuality
Queue surprised pikachu.
@CHICKNUGMASTER, pagan is a pretty broad term. Pagans are just people who hold religious beliefs that arent one of the main world religions, so you can’t pin the beliefs/acts of pagans on the entire term
@K1l, if they're odinists then they're European pagans specifically.
Yeah they should have known that an organization of pagans would be suuper regressives.
