Cats are so smart. Dogs can be smart. But cats are usually intelligent. Dogs not so much.
@Magnum1701, cats use their intellect to be assholes. Dogs do not.
@Magnum1701, my cat opens doors and turns the sink on when she’s thirsty
@Magnum1701, There are scientific studies that prove dogs are actually smarter than cats, especially when it comes to emotions and learning instructions/commands. I think the fact that cats tend to be more nimble creatures than dogs makes people think they are somehow smarter
@TriangleTesticles, you can't properly test a cat, they understand instruction and commands just fine, then they choose whether or not to care about your test.
That said it's varies cat to cat and dog to dog. Some are super smart, some are dumb as a rock.
People believe cats are smarter because they have vastly more complicated emotions.
@Magnum1701, the best thing anyone can say about a cat is that is acts like a dog in my opinion.
@Pat Myckok, my dog used to open doors to get to places I'm talking door knobs here not handles was really weird to watch. Had a lot of scratches on our doors. Also was able to take food off the counter that was pretty high with out breaking the container including 9lbs of tuna marinating in a bowl. He would also leave for about a week sometimes and come back like nothing had changed. there have been accurate studies gauging potential intelligence and dogs have more of that.
@TriangleTesticles, cats are very smart, but social animals like dogs develop higher intelligence than solitary animals. All the most intelligent animals (primates, whales, elephants) got that way from interacting and evolving with each other.
I know pictures like these always spark arguments over cats or dogs being smarter. In truth, it doesn’t matter. I’ve seen both animals step on their own turds, freak out, and run into things. Neither of them are that bright.
@The Mythic Canuck, same as people.
This furry what now?
