you should learn how to unclog your toilet this year
HAH. HAHAHAHAHA. But seriously this is good advise. Everyone should know how to unclog a toilet. Whether by plunger, snake line, or liquid hand soap. Also everyone should know how you change a flat tire.
@Rackbutt, i thought this was basic knowledge....when did it become something extra?
@MMSieBreeze, Millenials *shakes fist into the air*
My sister still didn’t know how to use a plunger late in high school.
@PBnJ, parenting....it has to be parenting....my daughter(step daughter but shes my blood now give a fvck what anyone says, age 12) probably couldnt change a lightbulb without help. It kills me how dependant she is and how terrible her problem solving skills are...it took me 2 years after meeting her mother to stop her mother from solving all her problems for her....To quote:
"You cant just give her all the answers, how tf is she going to learn if she doesnt fail a few times?!"
@MMSieBreeze, I don’t know my way around a lot of situations because I my parents walked me through it all. I can figure things out, but I still ask so I don’t break anything or waste money. They streamlined everything for me. It really is a problem—my mom is controlling, so I don’t even have the documentation I need to fill out some forms. I’m a few hundred miles from her.... in medical school.
@PBnJ, my parents were the opposite. They were both alcoholics that never really paid too much attention to us..so i dropped out at the legal age and sold drugs...until i moved in with my friend and his dad...his dad taught me more in the 5 years i lived with him than both my parents combined. I wpuldnt be the man i am today if i hadnt left when i did. I know how you feel about asking questions so you dont screw up. Im a master tech for chrysler, but i still have this need to double check with my team leader before i submit a quote for a huge job. Part of it is contributed to my lack of communication...i dont know how to word things correctly to people so i sound like i dont know what im talking about..the biggest part is that i always have this feeling like im missing something, or ive done something wrong, even though i know ive diagnosed it to perfection. Maybe i Dont know what im talking about, but maybe my parents lack of attention has made me feel inadequate...
@PBnJ, holy shjt...my bad...tl;dr my parents shjt to bro
@Rackbutt, Agreed. Also, change oil, hand wash dishes, do your own laundry, budget...
@Rackbutt, never heard the hand soap trick, makes total sense though
Seriously though the plunger seen in the picture is meant for sinks and smooth flat bottom drains. Get a toilet plunger which has a smaller diameter and sticks outward so it actually fully covers the drain
@megamanx181x, this is also uncommon knowledge that's great to know
@Rackbutt, and now you know.... and knowing is half the battle
