"A house divided cannot stand"
*Immediately divides the country into 2 political parties*
Which is working out so fvcking fantastically now, as we can all see
@GayShjtSniper, they actually said against a two party system. But we are dumb and have difficulty choosing between more than two things at one time.
@GayShjtSniper, admittedly, Lincoln said this long after the two party system was established.
Edit: Washington on the other hand, they just didn't listen to him. Easier to gain more power if you have more people on your side, easier to have more people if you consolidate multiple groups into few, and then eventually just two opposed to eachother.
@GayShjtSniper, Ahh, the beauty of a plutocracy thinly veiled as democracy. It's not majority rules, it's plurality rules, where ya just need to beat the other contenders, even if it's just 21% of the total votes. Then, when it all comes down to which team you root for and how much you hate the other side, we can all celebrate when your team's candidate supports none of your values and absolutely nothing changes for the poor folk who need it the most. Amazing.
@Atomicking74, it's not really that we have difficulty choosing between more than two people, it's more a result of Duverger's law:
(i) small parties are disincentivized to form because they have great difficulty winning seats or representation, and
(ii) voters are wary of voting for a smaller party whose policies they actually favor because they do not want to "waste" their votes (on a party unlikely to win a plurality) and therefore tend to gravitate to one of two major parties that is more likely to achieve a plurality, win the election, and implement policy.
@GayShjtSniper, Agreed. Both sides appear to be getting more radical because that's what's needed to align with their batshït crazy candidates. While Christians now would fall on a sword for Trump, back in 2016 I remember when he wasn't favored by Christians because of his behavior. Voting for him instead of Hillary transitioned to this blind following of him. The tail wags the dog in politics. You can no longer criticize Trump on anything even among your own party. It's weird.
@GayShjtSniper, There is the issue of splitting the vote. Wouldn’t want another Woodrow Wilson situation.
@AndorraBall, JoJo for prez
Ain't no jojo becoming president
@HSA, real question what if Joseph actually ran for president?
@HSA, JOJO FOR PRESIDENT IS EXACTLY WHAT THIS COUNTRY NEEDS!!!!
@Awc123awc, as long as the president doesn’t have any Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap
Are we seriously not voting in the JoJo?
And she's a JoJo!
@Kaji, well she’s a girl so
@BigJohnson86, I did not know that. Thanks for the I for. I edited my original comment to reflect it.
Probably means nobody cares about him. If he stood a chance of winning somebody would accuse him. It's sad but true. Real victims are doubted now because so many liars have claimed harassment against people just because they dont like their politics.
@spongeblade, well she’s a girl soooo
@BigJohnson86, and I’m a guy sooo, Dr. Jorgeson once side-eyed me seductively in a Burger King parking lot and made me feel uncomfortable for .2 seconds 12 years ago when I was a minor. I still haven’t overcome the trauma from that day. She needs to be brought to justice!
@CaptainCrunchyCvnt, ye canT b3 hara$$3d because yer a man.
@BigJohnson86, haha good to know.
It’s no longer about qualified leadership but about who can beat the other person.
@Sir Borksalot , that is a terrible mindset
@Awc123awc, it’s not a mindset but reality. Trump is the result from the right and now Biden is the result from the left.
I accuse this Dr. Jojo of molesting me. There ya go hes no longer got no sexual assault allegations.
@MrJojo, i guess you would know.
@TheStarHawk, yes that's right, it was Lincoln who said that, and it was long after the 2 party system was established. However, we've had some ~160-170 years to make a change and we haven't. We're still just arguing between asses and elephant trunks full of shjt.
My bare minimum is universal healthcare.
Also the libertarian party has a bad platform in terms of regulation.
@griffinstorme, The Libertarian party has a great stance on regulation: Laissez-Faire!
@SuperStockDiesel, google the guided age
A Jojo in office would be too much for thus country to handle
Allegation != Fact
