Three certainties in life:
American sporting references us European scum don't understand
@Cynical Englishman, just remember to never like the Cowboys, Eagles, or Browns.
@Cynical Englishman, am I allowed to feel special cause I understood? Like special European scum?
@Nudity Industries, Dually noted
@that one guy218, Yes. But still scum. Like me
@Cynical Englishman, all American football is is rugby but you can throw the ball forward
@Big Hat Brogan, but only once per play. A play is a part of a push where the action only occurs once the ball is picked up and ends when the player or ball touch the ground. Fours plays are allowed before the ball must be turned over via a punt (or kick). If you cover 10+ yards (9.14m), you get your four plays back. The goal is the same however, to enter the end zone (try zone) with the ball.
@Cynical Englishman, and us Canadians just don't care about
@Nudity Industries, I'm a cowboys fan and a Liverpool fan and both disappoint me every year
@iLikeBigBootyBitches, sounds like you need some new teams
But when the cowboys lose, America wins
And wackin it
Originally, I thought Dallas was going to win the Super Bowl this year, but week 16, when they sat their starters, I bet $200 against them even winning the division.
You don't win championships phoning in a game just because you can afford to. It betrays laziness and a lack of dedication
@Soon, it was week 17. They had nothing more to gain with the Giants losing to the Eagles the week before and they've already clinched home field advantage. Pro sports teams do that, won't be the first time and it won't be the last. Every sports analysts have said it would take perfect execution to beat Dallas and GB did just that.
@alpax, Yah *17. And no, good sports teams don't do that. The Pats (even though I personally hate them) had everything locked up, just like the Cowboys, but they showed up to every game, like professionals. (Also the Cowboys did technically have something to gain - a franchise record of 14-2)
In 2009, the Colts were 14-1 and sat out Manning and other starters for most of week 17, lost badly, and also didn't win the super bowl. The Packers obviously put up a hell of a game, but the Cowboys demonstrated they cared less about winning. They made a statement that there are scenarios where they will give up. Winning teams never do that
@Soon, tell this to Derek Carr and the Raiders buddy. They did sit some starters the entire time but alot of them still played even if it were only a series or two. They did not give up in week 17 even though they had nothing to gain from it. Its not like they tried to lose to the Eagles. They played, kept their players sharp and prepared and they also prevented against injury. The loss week 17 had nothing to do with the playoff loss. They played great. They just got beat by the wizard Aaron Rodgers on a great play
@AngeredSportsFan, Firstly, Carr was injured game 15, not 16. And secondly, injuries happen unpredictably and sporadically. Teams that give up, never win. It's ludicrous to have to defend the concept of playing your best players. Players can get injured in practice for gods sake.
Yes, the Packers were amazing, all teams in the playoffs are good. Dallas never had a chance to go all the way as soon as they gave up, cause the packers or someone else would outplay them
@Soon, you are right in saying players can get hurt at any given time but when they are taken out of irrelevant games, injuries are less likely to happen. I can tell you many of those guys never wanted to be taken out in week 17 in the first place. They never lost their drive. They wanted to play and they wanted to win. So stop with this giving up nonesense because the players didnt give up and they are the only ones that matter. Be mad at the personal who were taking the precautions if you want to but nobody was "giving up". Especially not the players. I understand your point of view of wanting to keep playing the player regardless so they stay sharp and i agree with you there, but stop labeling them being sat as "giving up" because thats the last thing going through everybodys head when set up for a playoff run. They got beaten by better and more experienced players in the playoffs. End of story
Insert Jaguars instead of Cowboys. We all know it's true..
FÜCK YOU SP!
Aewww look at me, im an american and i like football altough you just grab the ball with your hands and dont even use your feet! ewwwww
