@Howdoudoaspace, maybe it means he memorized the french words, but not necessarily their counterparts in his language. For example he read a dictionary written in French, but not a “French to English” dictionary

@Howdoudoaspace, I think at most he would be able to read the language not speak it. Honestly even that is a bit much though. At best he would be able to recognize most words in a sentence but they won’t really be in a specific order.

But if he’s memorized the entire dictionary, doesn’t he *basically* speak French? Minus the grammar?
