These live action remakes suck
@megamanx181x, I liked Aladdin, lion king was trash though
@megamanx181x, it's not that they're that bad, they're just kinda void. Especially when they don't change from the original formula very much, or worse, take stuff away from the original (Lion King). That's why I was initially afraid about Aladdin, Robin Williams was integral to the original movie, but due to it having Will Smith instead, it kinda takes a life of its own. Mulan looks like it's gonna be too different from the original (movie, not legend) for me to appreciate though.
@TheStarHawk, I think that makes more sense that you can’t expect to strike lighting twice by redoing the cartoon version. Overall they haven’t been necessary and I don’t think they are leaving the impact like the originals. Mulan is suffering cause majority of the cast is pro Hong Kong government and its probably going to get a lot of backlash.
@megamanx181x, I'm already planning to avoid the Little Mermaid remake; I have nothing against "black Ariel" (although I think Jessica Sula from Season 3 of Scream: The TV Series would have been a better choice), I'm just fairly certain that they'll use the same shjtty CGI as they did in Pirates of the Caribbean 4: Why the Hell Are We Still Making These
@megamanx181x, they are all trash current and future ones. Keep them like they used to be
If it generates money, it will happen.
Beauty and the beast was good, Aladdin was good they ran into a roadblock with lion king because they tried to make photo realistic lions and didn't stop and realize they emote differently than humans and then relied solely on body language and spoken language to show emotion and you end up with the lions all basically making the same slack jaw look for 98% of the movie and it looks bad
I like the remakes, but I totally see why people hate them. They’re unnecessary, and they only exist for money; there’s really no getting around that. But just because they’re unnecessary doesn’t make them a bad idea. My only two issues with them are 1- that there are so many, and 2- they seem to have a lot more potential than they live up to. The only one I thought lived up to its full potential was Aladdin. I like the others for what they are, but that one is my personal favorite.
What do you all think about the decision that Disney is apparently considering to have all their future Live-action Remakes be Disney+ Originals?
